Bright Eyes is one of my all time favorite bands, and it currently number one on my list. Right after I heard, "At the Bottom Of Everything" from I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning, I caved and went to go buy the CD. At first I didn't think I was going to like it, but it grew on me, and now - "At the Bottom of Everything" is still one of my favorite songs, but I've added "First Day of My Life" as well. They're excellent.
And the lyrics of the latter are SO sweet they make you melt into a giant puddle of goo.
And then there's the Shins. I heard them on my favorite movie, Garden State, and died. They're soo excellent.
Anyone else like these bands?

I've heard they were both really good- I'm just too cheap to go buy their stuff. I like the Decemberists, they're pretty cool. Also have you heard of We Are Scientists? I LOVE THEM. They were described as "Franz Ferdinand kicking the glitter off the Killers." If you like Franz you should like WAS.  |

Anyone else like these bands? yeah, i've heard of those bands. i like indie stuff....lots of obscure bands that people have never heard of and the music is sometimes more raw because it's not mainstream or influenced in any way |

bright eyes... cant say im a fan... i dunno, a lot of the indie rock stuff isnt really to my liking, but thats okay *haha* i think a lot of indie rock is taking a turn for the mainstream... and by that, i mean as mainstream as indie rock is going to get... which is ok i guess... (i dunno, im on a caffine induced euphoria right now, so nothings really coherent...)
im a really big cat power fan though... anyone heard the new album? ive been meaning to get it...

They're soo excellent. Anyone else like these bands? The Shins... (thumbs up). I could list a thousand movie scenes that would sound great with "Caring is Creepy" playing in the background. They're very good. Another one of my favorite indie bands (they've broken up though) is Soul Coughing, but not many people know them. |

I like Interpol, good group, they have good songs , in special in his first cd:"Turn on the bright lights", but "Antics" are good too
other groups are:
stellastar*(good gruop too)
sigur ros(I think that they are not indy Rock)

haha, you can hang out with me... i wont torch you for not liking them...
if i ever start a band, i will make sure that we have mobs with torches and pitchforks... bc then we can take over... haha, now i have to go learn to play something... and be diabolical...
