I was so about to make a thread about them. They've been pretty much my fave band for awhile now. They are amazing. Amy has a great voice. I can't wait for their new record.

haha, I remember themmm...ah memories. I used to be in LOVE with that song "Bring Me to Life"...I had a crush on my teacher in like 7th grade, and he liked Linkin Park and mentioned he kind of liked Evanescence, so I burned him a copy of my CD for him but he already got it...that made me so sad. but anyway. yeah, they're okay!

They're nice, but only when I'm really down. Like, winter. I can't listen to them in summer...

They only have 1 official album out. And their new one I think is coming out later this year. They also had an independent album called "Origin", but it's very rare, and finding an original copy is next to impossible.

Ok, so I just wanted to bring this thread back because I saw them on Oct. 11 '06, and I wanted to share my story. ---- I got to the venue at about 5pm. I expected the line to be way longer than what it was. The spot we got turned out to be right next to the door of Ev's bus. I saw Terry [guitarist] around a few times, and then Rocky [drummer] walked by and onto the bus. I saw Richie (Amy's bodyguard) a lot, and when he first walked by I was like "It's Richie" to my mom, and he glanced in my direction but he was busy at the time so I didn't say anything else. Doors opened at 7:30, I got a nice spot up on the balcony, I could see everyone on stage pretty well. (Well, it was hard to see Rocky when Ev played because of a light set-up) Revelation Theory [they were the opening band] were pretty good. After they played, the lead singer was walking through the pit selling Cds, and I wanted to meet him, but I didn't want to lose my spot so I stayed where I was. Then Ev came on. It was awesome. They sounded so good. Amy's voice amazes me. I was so glad that she did the high/operatic notes in some of the songs. Her voice sounds so much stronger and better than it did 3 years ago when I saw them. (Not saying she sounded bad, but you can tell she's gotten a load better.) And the guys were all awesome and did their thing. The whole band rocked out. After the show, we went outside, where there was a line against the wall. I walked down further to where it started, saw Richie standing there next to a gate that was put up, and assumed that someone would be coming out to sign some stuff. So I got in line with my mom and step-dad, and these two girls that we met inside when we were waiting for everything to start. Now, I never thought I'd met any of the band, because I figured they'd always play big venues, and it's a lot harder to meet people at those. So I was really excited that I was getting my chance. Oh yeah, while we were in line the lead singer of Rev Theory, Rich, came out and was selling CDs again, so I asked him if I could get a picture with him and he said yes. Then I bought their Cd and he signed it for me. He was a really nice guy. First they had said that we could take pictures, but not with the band, then they changed and said no pics at all. So Richie walked by and we asked him what the deal was and he told us. I was a little sad because I wanted a picture. But then he lowered his voice and told us that if we waited around until most everyone was gone, we could get a picture with Amy. I was like 'heck yes!'. Oh, and I got a picture with Richie. He's a nice guy, and a HUGE thanks goes out to him for helping me because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten a pic with Amy. I wish I could've thanked him before we left, but he had to shuffle people away from Amy. Hopefully I'll see him again one day and then I can tell him. Here's the picture of me and him. It was kinda awkward taking it because he had to lean down to get to my level, lol. Finally it was my turn, to meet the band and I was starting to get really shy but I knew I had to make the best of it. I got John's autograph first, and then I waited for the person in front of me to finish getting Rocky's. John made me laugh when my mom got his autograph, because she had a shirt on her shoulder for him to sign and he was like "Do you want me to sign that?" and my mom was like "Yeah baby!", and he laughed and was like "Ok, I just didn't want to start signing it and have you be like "what are you doing?". So then I got Rocky's autograph, and he said that he liked my shirt. (I think John might've said that too, but I can't remember.) And then I got up to Amy, we exchanged 'hello's and how are you's' She also said she liked my shirt. She signed my copy of their album The Open Door, and I gave her a hug.
Then I got Terry's autograph, and he also complimented my shirt. Then I got Tim's [he's the newest member], and he's a really nice guy. Then we waited around like Richie said, and sure enough, once pretty much everyone was gone, he called me over and I got take a picture with Amy. When I walked up to her she was like "I lost my sharpie". So then me and Amy took our picture together, which took a few minutes because Richie had my mom's cam, which was like, almost dead so when he tried to take our picture it didn't work, and I felt bad for holding Amy up, so I said I was sorry, and she was like "That's ok." Then my step-dad got my cam and took the pic.

*is starstruck* WOW!! Amy's literally hugging you! I love Evanescence to death so taking that pic must had been AMAZING!! You should also share this post with the celebrity stories/sightings thread. This is definitely worthy over there as well. *tries to recuperate from the photo* Anyways, I own Fallen and Origin on CD and bought The Open Door through iTunes. Their music has definitely matured from their last stuff and I like it. Unfortunately, I'm thinking that they won't be in the public spotlight as often as they were with Fallen. But who knows? I absolutely LOVE their first single "Call Me When Your Sober" and its music video compliments it so well. When I first heard it though, I felt that the song sounded a little country to me, but now I'm okay with it.
