I was into Celtic music long before Cillian, but ... I appreciate it more now.

Anyone here like the livelier stuff, like Kila, Christy Moore, Luka Bloom, or Planxty? All the ones mentioned so far send me to sleep ... If you're gonna go wider Celtic, Shooglenifty are an AWESOME Scottish trad~ish band too. Ah yes, Planxty is good, also Christy Moore. You can't forget the Chieftains.

On Saturday night, I saw a concert by Alasdair Fraser, Scottish fiddler, and Natalie Haas, American cellist. I love Scottish fiddling in general, and Fraser is at the top of his class. Turns out that cello was the bass instrument of choice in 18th century Scotland, so playing some of the old dance tunes as well as the more sedate drawing room pieces worked really well. They were also ecletic, doing some Cape Breton stuff, some more modern compositions including a Finnish waltz and a piece called "A Night in Pakistan." If anyone is looking for good Scottish fiddling, I'd recommend them.

I was into Celtic music long before Cillian... Same here. I love Celtic music. I listen to it all the time when I'm home alone, and I just can't help from swaying or dancing and imagining that I'm in Ireland or wherever. Hahah.
