Knowing how insanely I love my own mom, even without his Scarecrow alterego, it is quite easy to see how Jonathan could do something like this.
You know, evil is probably not as black-and-white as we seem to think it is. It sounds like Dr. Gooding has put Mrs. Crane through some sort of trauma (telling her Jon is dead) - now THAT'S evil!!
My heart hurts for this poor boy who's seen so much. And it isn't over for him.

Azina, this chapter is great!! First, how Scarecrow came to his mask. This was so cool, how you managed that. And second, Jonathan/the Scarecrow becoming a hero, he doesn´t want to be. No matter, he´s "only" Scarecrow in the moment - to me he´s my hero.

I hate Machiano to begin with by what he did to Crane's mother, but hated him even more when writing about him in this chapter. What a total slimeball. By the time Crane takes him down I was like "You go!" LOL I loved Crane in this.

As I hated Machiano so much when I red the chapter I just can imagine how you feeled when you wrote it. And the way how Craze reacted (maybe to compare it with a beast of prey, maybe panther: sitting in the dark, observing, analizing and then to attack its victim in the right moment.), I just like this. It just fits, I even couldn´t imagine Crane as a "super-hero" doing fist-fights with thugs or sth. like that... To Machiano of course Crane does look more like a kitten than a panther, but well - he was wrong then sorry, take this description more like a metaphor, I think you know what I mean. ahhh.. I can´t wait to see what happens next... I hate Machiano to begin with by what he did to Crane's mother, but hated him even more when writing about him in this chapter. What a total slimeball. By the time Crane takes him down I was like "You go!" LOL I loved Crane in this.

Azina, i just got caught up in all the stuff i missed in your story, and wow! well done, so sad and maddening. i can understand Crane's sadistic nature after seeing his mother suffer like that. sometimes i think the world truly is a horrible place. you're a great writer!

That was amazing!! I couldn't believe my eyes as I was reading the first part. I thought Crane was going to fashion some sort of bag to trap Machiano but you made it into his mask!! OOOOhhhh that mask that almost made that dumb reported throw up...finally we know how it came to be..
And I agree with fosforito - having him fight with his fists is not fair. Although I think it is sad - the lady whose life he saved screamed when he put on the mask. He really is a hero...
Can't wait to read more. Hows your capstone paper coming along? Please tell me it is almost done so I can read that and the next chapter of this tale!!!!

Since I probably won't be sending this along for another two or three days due to homework, here's the new chapter ... or at least the beginning of it.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Mrs. Crane needs to be vindicated, if not "Snake"s other victims!! I cannot believe I am doing this, but GGGGGGOOOOOOOO, Scarecrow! I love how you've used him to torment the bad guys. It'd be interesting to see how he might possibly join forces with Falcone and come over to the "dark side", as my other master, Yoda would say. Bright this boy's future is, I think.... (sorry a little Star Wars humor there..)

Thanks! I'm right now mapping out the next scene in my head. I had night school last night and capstone paper is due this Friday so the story will have to be on the backburner until this Saturday I think. I'm right now working on a couple of different scenarios that I think will be interesting. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
