*Caution Spoilers - not really but I'm playing it safe anyway* . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I don't like posting things that are mere speculation but... I need someone to hold me after reading the Summer Movie Previews magazine.  Okay, so I'm reading Summer Movie Previews and unfortunately noticed Cillian Murphy wasn't listed among the actor list in Batman Dark Knight... which leads me to suspect that Dr. Crane will only make a cameo. Wikipedia says the same.   Okay. Fair enough. But... what if this means *gulp* Dr. Crane bites the dust in this film???  An anonymous in IMBD discusses the plotline of Dark Knight. I won't say it here since a) it's most likely bogus or b) it's a *spoiler*. Still, here's the link if you guys want to look into it for yourselves... www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/ Just click on the full summary option and you'll see it. Again, I don't know what to make of this 'anonymous' person, but his/hers plot scares the bejeezus outta me since it implies Dr. Crane's reason for only making a cameo. Anyway, I read that in the comics Joker and Scarecrow teamup briefly. That'd be cool if it happens in the movies... if only I didn't get this awful feeling Joker has it in for Scarecrow later on. I mean, in the comics, Joker beat up Scarecrow with a chair when he doublecrossed him and tried to poison him. So....  What do you guys think? You think this is the end for Dr. Crane? *sniff* You think Crane should watch out for any chairs in this movie? |

Hmm... I don't know. I have heard rumors though that he's gonna have a small part near the end of TDK and then in the third movie he'll have a bigger part. But again that's the rumor I heard. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!  |

I don't think it'll be the end of Scarecrow/Crane. They let Catwoman live in one of the Batman movies *is a geek*. Who knows though, who knows.

Reviving this thread here.....
So for those of you who have seen TDK by now (Spoilers below for those who haven't), aside from the fact that it was most disappointing that he had only about a millisecond of screen time, how many people feel that he might have a part in the 3rd Batman film?
I don't know what to think. On the one hand, CM has said in an interview (I can't remember which one) that he doesn't like to repeat himself so he won't play a villain again. However, it seems to me that Scarecrow sort of represents the theme of madness throughout the movies (and which I think is why he had a cameo in TDK, since a large part of TDK's thesis was about madness), and I would like to see him return for the third one.
I just wonder if that is at all possible....I wish I could read Nolan's mind, since Crane is my favorite Batman villain of all time, even more than Joker (even though Heath OWNED as the Joker....)

O wow I just noticed the chair thing also!!!
Well I do think he'll be in batman three and for me it was a joy to see him for a second!! It's good to know that only he'll be in that scarecrow outfit and no one else.
For a moment I really thought he was going to team up w/ twoface, but now we just have to wait til the third one comes out.

Yeah, I was hoping that he would get teamed up with one of the other villains too. But either way I still think, or maybe I'll say hope, that he will be in the third one and, hopefully with a bigger role, since that's seems to be the buzz going around, and because Scarecrow hasn't been killed off yet, and lets hope he doesn't.

At the ONTD TDK parties there are so many people posting CM/Scarecrow pics and such, I dunno, I mean I know Nolan doesn't go by what the masses think but still, I hope he takes notice that there are those who would really love to see Scarecrow again. And it's just a fascinating character in its own right. Scarecrow and Two-Face, peeze. I mean I don't want Nolan and Co. to come up with a NEW villain when we already have two good ones as it is. And Lord knows no one is going to replace Heathus as the Joker........

We'll I have heard recently also rumors about the Riddler being the new villain in the third movie. But then we'll have so many bad guys running around I don't know how there gonna do it. But anyways, everything is still just rumors and ideas till the movie starts filming. But I think we all agree they should bring Scarecrow back!

Oh and..
I was too thrilled to see Cillian in TDK...my mouth just dropped open haha. I agree with keeping the old villians, they're both great ones to revisit.
