So he's reading scripts?. I hope so because right now there's a new group of younger talented actors breathing down his neck. As much as I appreciate his acting abilities, his choices in films haven't been wise ones. I know he likes to decide for himself which roles to do but I think it's about time he asked his agents for advice. It's so sad to this this once active forum die a slow and painful death. People please write.

Hmmm, if it wasn't for the fact that Cillian's already played Scarecrow a DC character), I think he could be pretty awesome as the X-Men character Quicksilver.

I'd like to see him do a suspense/thriller. He's so intense.
I'm still hopeless to the idea of SOMEONE in Hollywood to make a Jack Rippner movie.

I'd love to see Cillian in a suspense/thriller. Something with a little bit of sexiness mixed into it like an erotic thriller would be nice. Heh. I don't think a Jack Rippner movie or Red Eye sequel will ever come to fruition unfortunately...but that's what good Red Eye fanfics are for! For now, I think I'll settle with Cillian and Rachel McAdams in another movie together, if that'll ever happen again. *crossing fingers*

I agree that I would be most excited to see Cillian in something dark and suspenseful as well. He has such an incredible smoldering sexiness to him when he wishes to implement it (Jackson Rippner, anyone?) and I would love to see him do something like that again. Something smart and slick and edgy without being too cheesy-action-flick-y.
I saw a movie the other day called 13 Tzameti - it was a french film and all I could think while watching it was that I would love for it to be remade with Cillian in the lead. The star of the original was very bland and unemotional in circumstances which called for a much more visceral reaction, and I could so easily envision Cillian bringing his incredibly complexity to this role - he would have given the movie so much more depth.
My biggest dream though (other than my fic Crossing the Line being made into a real Red Eye sequel, ha ha) is to see Cillian play the lead in the novel-to-screen adaptation of Dead I Well May Be. A few years ago this project was in development and names were being tossed around for it, two of which were Cillian and Colin Farrell. For those who don't know, it is a fantastic novel about an Irish immigrant in the 1990's who does some work for a mobster. He crosses the boss and is shipped off to a Mexican prison, where he is expected to live out his days in hellish misery... but he does anything but that. It is a very graphic story of violence and drugs and sex and is one of the most gripping things I have ever read. Cillian would truly be put through his paces with this role, and it would be THE one to make him a household name here in the US if the film was produced jusssst right.

Hey Seabreeze! You mentioned that this forum was once active (and indeed it was), and see that you just registered in January of this year... are you a longtime lurker, or are you an old poster with a new name? Either way, it's good to see someone coming out of the shadows, so to speak! If you're one of the old crowd, let us know who you are so we can re-welcome you! LOL! ;D If you're a lurker, thank you for joining in the discussions!

I just finished reading this graphic novel series Preacher, and I really think Cillian would be totally badass as the main character Jesse Custer. Just think about it - the messy hair, wearing the preacher outfit, wearing an eyepatch and speaking with a Texan drawl? I would see that just to hear Cillian do a Texan accent, LOL. Of course, the graphic novels are very violent, riddles with swearing, sex and a lot of blasphemous themes, so I could only hope that the adaptation will stick true to the majority of those themes. If done well, I can really see this catapult Cillian into the A-list.

I was looking up on this movie, Pisces, because it sounded intriguing, and did you know that an American remade has already been done and awaiting release for next year? Go here for the info. The cast seems pretty strong, but unfortunately, it doesn't include Cillian. I just finished reading this graphic novel series Preacher, and I really think Cillian would be totally badass as the main character Jesse Custer. I was looking up on this graphic novel, Kizuna, because it sounded incredibly interesting, and did you know that they're already thinking of making a movie adaptation? Supposedly, Sam Mendes is set to direct. Now, that really got my attention. I love Sam Mendes' work. People were also throwing around names like James Marsden for the lead role and Scarlett Johanssen?? Anyway, I wouldn't think Sam Mendes would do an adaptation to such a stylized graphic novel like Preacher. He's done a graphic novel adaptation before with Road to Perdition, but it was more like a period piece than anything. I'll definitely be on the lookout for this movie adaptation. I'm always eager to see what Sam Mendes will come up with next! It would be even more exciting if Cillian got to work with him! Heh, anyway, it's amusing that whatever us Cillian fans read/see, we always happen to imagine Cillian in the lead role. It doesn't really matter what genre; he always seem to be perfect to play the character. I'd be reading Chuck Palahniuk or Ian McEwan, two drastically different authors, and I'd be picturing Cillian in those books. I'm still waiting for a movie adaptation of On Chesil Beach with Cillian in the lead role, but I highly doubt that'll ever happen. I'm sure a movie adaptation will eventually be made because many of McEwan's books have already been adapted, but probably by that time Cillian will be too, too old to play the role of a twenty-something year old male.

Well, sh*t. LOL. I should have thought to look it up! Not the cast I would have wanted but I would probably watch the remake. Sigh....

I'd actually like to see him play a lawyer in a movie. I don't know if he'd go for that kind of role, considering that he dropped out of college and abandoned his study of law to pursue acting, but I'm just curious how he'd approach the role. If the script was well-written, maybe he'd go for it, but I don't know. The idea seems far-fetched. Still, I'd love to see him play a character working in the legal profession in a movie.

Ah! There is this thread!! Finally found it. (I accidentally posted something to this topic in the wrong thread once. It was in the theater-wish-roles thread.... ) Okay! So let me tell about my wishes for some future (movie) roles. My favorite one still would be: Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde And I would absolutely going crazy if he would play some angel character. What about Lucifer, the beautiful fallen Angel? Cillian could manage just both: the innocent angelic look AND the devil-like manner. And: I am still waiting for him to play a gay Victorian Age character! ;D A lawyer would be also cool! Good idea, impeachy! Would love to see him in this role.

If they ever made a movie of "Memnoch The Devil" by Anne Rice, i think he'd be great as Memnoch. Taking the vampire Lestat on a tour of heaven and hell, telling him the story of creation and how life evolved. Being intimidating and monstrous at times and calm and melancholic at others. And i'd like to see Jamie Campbell-Bower play Lestat as i think he looks exactly as Anne always descibed the character and has the lust for life that Lestat always shows. I'm unsure of how great his acting ability is as he hasn't done much yet, but when Camelot starts in a couple of months it should give me an idea of how talented he is, seen as he's the main character. I really hope he's brilliant!

Dang, re-reading my earlier post, it seems that I have gotten my wish! I wanted him to play something smart and slick and edgy (to quote myself) without being too cheesy action flick-y... and I believe Now will fit the bill exactly. I also had long wished for him to do a movie with Chris Nolan that was an original script, and that was fulfilled with Inception. Which puts me in the unexpected position of not knowing what I'd like to see him do next. I guess I know more of what I don't want him to do, which may sound negative. Though I am aware of how popular vampire movies and tv shows are currently, I believe Cillian should give those a wide berth. They've been done to death lately, and for him to accept such a project would smack of jumping on a trendy bandwagon. Not an attribute I want to associate with Cillian. No more cross dressing roles, either, please. This is only my opinion, and I sincerely hope I do not offend any members, but I personally find those roles very much a turn-off (I am aware I may well be in the minority with this opinion). We all know you make a convincing woman, Cillian - it is time to move forward and explore other avenues of your career. LOL. Mostly I'd like to se him as a solid lead, as he was in Red Eye. No supporting role, and not as a component of an ensemble cast, but the star of a production, or at least co-star. My hope would be for a drama, or again, a suspense/thriller. I like him in contemporary roles versus period ones - there is something about his face that looks exceedingly modern to me, and that's perhaps why he looks so at home in sci-fi movies. Of course, this is only my opinion. LOL. To have him work with Michael Mann or Martin Scorsese would be my absolute dream. A role like De Niro's in Heat, for example, could be done to perfection by Cillian. So I suppose my big desire now would be an epic crime drama, in which Cillian is the star, with a respected director, by a big studio. Is that too much to ask?
