Thank you! This is the only Cillian Murphy board I've ever belonged to, and I remember that most of us got along really well. There are some pretty wonderful members on this board. I was surprised to see that my profile wasn't deleted, since I hadn't responded to the "cleanup" memo a few years back. I have to say, once I found I could log in, I felt loved =). Cillian and Gary Oldman are my absolute favorites. I will see anything that they are in. Christopher Nolan is an awesome filmmaker and I love that he sees in Cillian what so many others do not. This movie has a fantastic cast (Tom Hardy, Bronson anyone?) and reminds me of a less futuristic, more reality based cross-between Dark City and the Matrix. Yeah, the atmosphere on this forum is always really relaxed and friendly. Glad your profile wasn't deleted.  I'll go see anything with any of the men in my signature as i think they're all amazing actors- so i'm really excited that both Cillian and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are in Inception. And Ellen Page is one of my favourite female actors as well so i'm really looking forward to it. I do love Gary Oldman in Harry Potter- but i have to say i haven't seen him in much else, apart form Batman. He was the perfect Sirius though. |

Welcome back to all the older members! *waves* ;D I've been so behind on the Cillian updates! I saw that new picture of Cillian from Inception, and I was so lost to where it was from.  I finally figured out that it was from an Inception TV spot... I hadn't realized that the TV spots had new shots of Cillian!  Has anybody posted links to them? I don't think anybody did so... here are the links to the 3 TV spots. Inception TV Spot #1Inception TV Spot #2Inception TV Spot #3In the 3rd full-length trailer, there's that shot of Cillian from behind that's also shown in the 3rd TV spot... I knew it was Cillian when I first saw that shot in the trailer!! LOL. I'm soo excited for this! Cillian must have a pretty decent size role if he's the subject that they plant the "seed" into in order to steal his secrets. The whole plot practically surrounds his character. I'm crossing my fingers. I can't wait! ;D |

Thanks for sharing that video, ghostinthefog! ;D It was a real treat to watch. I'm so much more excited to watch the movie because of it. I learned a little bit more about it, but not too much to spoil everything. Cillian looks amazing in the video as does Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The whole movie looks amazing. I'm so excited! That's fantastic, ghost!! ;D Thank you for linking us to it! I love that shot of Fischer when Leo (I think) is about to walk by him - he gets the funniest little look on his face, like you would when you see someone who looks familiar to you but you're not sure where from. Love it. Even in that little clip, we see a flash of Cillian's trademark subtlety. He's so amazing.

Didn't think it was too much of a spoiler but whew you had me a little worried. I wondered when you said about something being sad about his character I thought it might be that his character dies (it's so sad when that happens!  ), but luckily that wasn't it!  Some nice information though. Makes me anticipate the movie even more! ;D |

Just feelings, really. Impressions. Fischer seems like the embodiment of the phrase "lonely at the top." Just spitballing here, but I'm sensing he's going to be betrayed somehow, possibly unintentionally, by Cobb or Cobb's team. It seems from the trailers that he might be hiring Cobb for mental/dream-security services (playing off the idea that he's insecure about assuming control of his father's immense corporation) but that Cobb has a personal agenda (that one last job) that could compromise his loyalties. Heck, I dunno.... Getting a real powerful-but-very-vulnerable vibe from Fischer, that's all. |

Thanks, Punctuator, for posting that link!! I did read the whole thing, and first off, I'm thrilled to know what his first name is! I had considered making a thread where we could all make guesses as to what Fischer's first name is... but now we know. It's Robert. After reading that little character synopsis, it looks like your impression of him might be pretty accurate. And I'm really diggin' the idea of Fischer being the emotional center of the movie - if anyone has the ability to involve the viewer's heart along with their mind, it's Cillian. Can't even begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to this. |
