He's just a stunning, stunning actor. The scene where John tells Ellen Page's character that he can't go home, that he'll get her and the baby out of Peac*ck, that he'll take them anywhere, he was just truly wonderful there. There, and the scene where he's curled up next to the tree thinking about what his mother used to do to him. Just heartbreaking.

Without any spoiler....the scene in the end....he's not overacting or doing anything strange, he says it all with his face, he's absolutely brilliant, he can convey such emotion.

I once read that he 'built' a version of the set in his attic and would go up and practice movements and body language.

Yes, that's what they say in the featurette...must have been tough for the poor wife. If my husband ever did something like that, it would probably tempt me to lock the attic door and leave him there for a few weeks....until he is done with it ;D ;D ;D

To be fair, she gets to go to bed with that every night. She's not exactly suffering.

I really like the idea of this movie and Cillian's stunning acting. But besides this the movie always felt like there was something missing in it... Can't describe what exactly, but I just think the story wasn't taken to its max... But it has some amazing scenes. For example, one scene I like especially....
!!! SPOILER !!!!!
: : : :
... when Emma "dresses up" as John. Simply genius! Through Cillian's acting you can totally see the sudden difference in John's behaviour and expressions.

I think I enjoyed it better the second time I watched it because I wasn't so worried about understanding the plot. It's a very subtle film, but you gotta have a penchant for creepy psychological thrillers. If you loved Philip Ridley's films (The Reflecting Skin, The Passion of Darkly Noon)you're going to love Peac*ck as well.

Cillian was indeed brilliant in this film, but I feel the same way as Zombie. The story seemed like it was missing something, and for that reason I didn't enjoy it as much. Still, it proves that Cillian can play any role well! Hearing that he built the set in his attic really makes me admire the dedication he has. Also, I'm sure his wife is well used to all of that stuff by now.

Ooooooh I just watched it. What a sad story! It was full of surprising movements in the plot for such a compact little town, well pinpointing it down to John really! Wow. Ellen Paige's character was woven so sadly and so shocking into the story, I think the little boy was John's. Cillian was utterly phenomenal............again! Shape shifting genius, physiologically and physically! Bravo! Thanks for sending it me Leyla
