I hope they are still able to make the film! It sounds like it would be a great one....

I would be so happy if they really make this film. Would love to see it. Cause besides Cillian, Gabriel Byrne is one of my favourite actors! I find him an attractive man and a very good actor. I first saw him in "End of Days". Okay... this film was not the best one. But I loved Gabriels sexy-evil performance as Satan. Since then hes one of my favourites.

Thank christ! I really hope this is definitely happening. With all the stuff about it starting last autumn and then it didn't, i hope this news is true and not just rumour.

Oh great Jess! Thank you. Besides, it is an interesting article. I haven't seen the film under the possible political dimension.

There was a minute piece in one of the Irish tabloids last week. It just had a picture of Collin Farrell, and of course some smart remark about his appearance or whatever, no doubt with some genius play on words in it. Anyway it said he had finished filming his scenes for ASTB so that sounds good.

Ok bad news, Domhnaill Gleeson(Brendan's son) was on an Irish talk show on Friday night and when the host said to him "So we'll be seeing you next in At Swim Two Birds, is that right?" he said that it still hadn't started filming! The host was surprised and Domnhaill said they were still finding it hard to get the funding and that it's been in the pipeline for so long. I'm starting to think it could be next year before they even get started, if we're lucky! The way our economy is gone, thanks to our lazy, selfish politicians, it might never get the money it needs.

That is really to bad. I hope that they do get the money and that this movie does happen.

I hope they get funding for this movie, because I'm really looking forward to it. I read the novel's synopsis and it sounded really interesting. I'm thinking about getting a copy because I want to read it.

Brendan Gleeson article here: www.rte.ie/ten/2011/0217/gleesonb.htmlIt is worth reading. I've only seen him in Perrier's Bounty and as Mad-Eye Moody, but I still think he's brilliant. He's such a down-to-earth man.
