Ok so I haven't heard any news saying for sure that Cillian will be in the third installment, but I have heard him say that he would love to play Dr. Crane again. But I did find some news about the movie that I think is exciting! Looks like The Riddler will be our main villain for the next film... and you'll never guess who Chris Nolan is looking at to play him! www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=18524

Great thread idea Ashley Rose Thanks for putting that link up. Hmm....have to say much as I've found Leonardo to be good in everything I've so far seen him in, I just can't see him as that kind of character (though maybe he's yet to show a side of his acting no-one's ever seen before!). Can't really comment on on the other two as not familiar enough with their work - though for some reason strikes me Gordon-Levitt could easily look the part!

JOSEPH!!!! ;D That'd be amazing. God i hope it's Joseph.... In my view Leonardo just doesn't come across as the actor to bring a comic book villian to life on screen. He spends most of his time in very serious dramas and i just can't imagine it. Even thought Joseph also does his fair share of hard hitting dramas, he just seems like he's slot into the role better. He can do anything! I just love him...in case ye all hadn't guessed that already.

Yes I am hoping they pick him too although Inception is like the only thing I've seen him in I think he would be great for the part! ;D

A pity there's still no news on whether Cillian's definitely going to be re-appearing in the third movie or not :-( Still, much as I'd be super thrilled if they brought Cillian as Dr Crane back and expanded the role into a more significant one, I'm going to try not to get my hopes up. Going by how much I still enjoyed the Dark Knight (despite sorely missing Cillians presence), I'm sure this one'll still turn out to be just as good!

Yes me too! I'd watch it even if Cillian isn't in it but I really hope he is!

He really is a very powerful actor, who has made some incredible choices in his roles. A lot of actors would probably shy away from some of the parts he's chosen, fearing it might hinder their career but, just like Cillian, the story seems to be the only thing that matters to Joseph. You should check out either Manic or Mysterious Skin (be warned sme people may find Mysterious Skin disturbing. I admit it's not the easiest film to watch, but it boasts stunning performances from Gordon-Levitt and Brady Corbet. And the ending is so touching i always end up in tears). So yeah i love Joseph.

You know, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Heath Ledger share a rather striking resemblance, and I always thought JGL could be a good replacement Joker. But since Nolan said no Joker in future movies (for now anyway), I'm all behind him as The Riddler. He's an amazing actor and could play a great villainous role. His Cobra Commander in the GI Joe movie was one of the few things I liked in it. And the thought of him in a green suit being manipulative and smart is enough to warrant a squee out of me! As for Scarecrow, I might be sounding like the Devil's Advocate here, but I'm hesitant. I'd only want him back in if, and only if he actually contributes something to the overall story. None of this minute long cameo. Come on, Nolan, utilize his full potential!

Agree with you Kizuna. Even though The Dark Knight was good Cillian might as well not have even been in it. Surely if Chris Nolan were to put Cillian in another Batman movie he'd give him a bigger part. Razz, JGL was my second fav character in Inception, I really liked him a lot and I do think he does resemble Heath a little bit. All I can say is that if they don't pick him to play the Riddler then my second choice would be Tom Hardy cuz I also liked him in Inception.

You know, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Heath Ledger share a rather striking resemblance, I agree! That never occurred to me before, but after just checking some pictures out of both actors I can see just what you mean. As for Scarecrow, I might be sounding like the Devil's Advocate here, but I'm hesitant. I'd only want him back in if, and only if he actually contributes something to the overall story. None of this minute long cameo. Oh without a doubt, I definitely wouldn't want him back in it if his performance was just going to be a repeat of what happened with the Dark Knight. Much as I feel bad for feeling this way about any of Cillian's performances - for me that one really was a letdown. Also I think as much as anything else it was a bit of an insult to Cillian's talent. After all this time I'm still surprised he even considered agreeing to do it - knowing the reputation he has for being picky about scripts. Going by what I remember, he didn't even get to say as much as a full sentence in the whole of that scene! But anyways, I'll quit with the grumbling now (lol!) and get back on topic. I definitely think it'll be great to see a fresh face in the part of the Riddler. I thought Jim Carrey was ok. But his performance never struck me as being anything spectacular.

^Yeah everyone says they look alike. I think it's mainly around the mouth that ibsee a strong resemblance. Both are beautiful men and very talented.

I agree I think the way their eyes are set are very similiar too. They could easily be mistaken for brothers or cousins I think!

I just found out (never realised it before now!) that some time back there was some talk of Johnny Depp also being considered for the part of the riddler! I wonder if that's still the case right now...assuming that the rumour was true of course. Though haven't been able to find anything recent that confirms or disproves this as of yet!
