So I am aware other men are attractive, but ever since I became infected its like they all just pale in comparison! Before I'd be like, 'he's nice' now its..meh. so, does anyone else find this a bit of a problem? I'm not sure if its just me being silly, obviously I notice other guys but Cillian has taken attractiveness to the next level! I'm suspecting i'm a bit infatuated, and although I LOVE looking at him, when you look away, everything else just looks a bit crap. Apart from Cillian, has anyone else ever had this before? I did for a short while over David Tennant, only I could only look at some of his pics cos in alot of them he looked like my ex (shudders)

just like to say i'm not an obsessed weirdo, its just interesting to me how the attractiveness of one person can affect how good looking you think other people are

You're definitely not alone there Crane. I've had the same thing There's other actors I can definitely see are physically attractive. But since discovering Cillian I've not been able to find a single other who comes as close to having the kind of effect on me that I get from when looking at him! Also I'm past suspecting I'm a bit infatuated. I know I am! lol! I'm sure eventually there will come a point when this calms down and I'll start finding it easier to appreciate attractiveness in other guys again - but in the meantime it's certainly a bit of a struggle! ;D

Glad you started this topic, Crane! I never thought I would become a "fangirl" at 30, it's kind of embarrassing. Well actually I've been a fan for about 6 years now, but kept it low-key because of my boyfriend (he doesnt like Cillian at all... thinks he's so creepy looking) I think he's just jealous haha. I think Cillian has superpowers , because he has me under some type of spell.

HAHA! I think he has powers too... Dont worry, i'm 31 and had previously thought I was immune to fangirlism, but at least I know its not just me! have you seen how many Tumblr sites there are dedicated to pictures/vids of him? I spent a good 4 hours the other night looking through them while I was supposed to be doing housework. And i'm off to the pictures tonight to see Inception again, yay!

No worries at all Crane! And yup I know only too well what that feeling's like too lol! There's been a good many times when deep down I've known I've needed to take a break from these forums to get on with other things. But the need for that fix has eventually taken over and I've given in. It's like having withdrawal symptoms from a drug at times! Luckily for me, I'm feeling now that's not as much a problem for me as it was at one point. But I still get my odd days lol! And knowing what you mean Disarm 79 on not anticipating becoming a fan girl because of your age. From the start of this preoccupation I've been thinking "I'm in my late twenties, not a teenager! Yet I'm feeling like one!". I guess it goes to prove though crushes/deep physical attraction can occur with anyone at any age, at any time and any place! ;D

I'm glad that you're feeling more 'in control' now Emma I'm sure my fondness will subside (slightly) with time. I know what you mean about the forums, talking to people who feel the same can help (as in this thread) but looking at pictures and videos can feed the obsession somewhat. And knowing what you mean Disarm 79 on not anticipating becoming a fan girl because of your age. From the start of this preoccupation I've been thinking "I'm in my late twenties, not a teenager! Yet I'm feeling like one!". I guess it goes to prove though crushes/deep physical attraction can occur with anyone at any age, at any time and any place! ;D Its strange liking a celebrity, because you get the same kind of feeling when you meet someone you really like, but you dont actually know them, and they dont know you, so it can be like unrequited love in a way, and we've all been there haven't we! But in a way, its not as bad as that because at least the person of desire has a justifiable reason to not know you exist. It must to horrendous for people who become so obsessed it really does feel like unrequited love to them, that must be heartbreaking. I may have it a bit bad, but I still have a good grasp on reality!!

Thanks Crane Yup, you're definitely spot on with the photo and video thing! As well as with the whole unrequited love thing too. Infatuation is a sneaky thing - it can play tricks on the mind. And every bit as much with celebrities as with people you know. I'm going to admit, there has been the odd time I've gotten more than a bit over carried away there on the Cillian front. But carried away as I'm capable of getting at times, I definitely count myself lucky in that I always eventually come round to realising I did get carried away. It must be that much tougher for those, when they don't have the needed perception to realise that's what happened with them - without a doubt!

Much as i love Cillian, i can still see the beauty of other men. Namely Ben Whishaw, Joesph Gordon Levitt and Jamie Campbell Bower, along with others.
I think Cillian is stunning- the eyes, the bone structure, the lips but it's also his personality and just the performances that make me such a big fan. I can't get over how talented he is, and how down to earth at the same time.

Oh definitley! Totally agree there's alot more to him than just his looks for being worthy of fan attention For one, I was just referring to his looks because of the specific subject of this thread. Though come to think of it, I never once mentioned screen charisma - as a result of his acting talent - and I definitely think that's every bit as relevant! As is his down to earth attitude off screen too.

For years I have had different "crushes" on several actors but none so far have lasted as long as Cillian and I know why now. For me Cillian is not just a pretty face he is a model that I as a budding actress can look up to and aspire to be. I think he is so underrated but that is why I love him so much. Because he is a great actor but he is not a celebrity. When I watch his movies sometimes I feel like I learn from them how a great actor should be. Someone who just blows you away not just with their looks but with their talent as well. And I always love the characters he chooses because they are never really dull or boring. There are a lot of other good looking guys out there and I know it. And there are also other very talented underrated actors out there who deserve a look but Cillian is different. He just has something that no other person usually has and that makes it hard for other guys to measure up too.

Couldn't have put that better myself Ashley Rose And I think that's terrific you're using him as a role model while developing your own acting career! In your situation I think I'd do just the same thing. Good for you!

oh I totally agree with Cillian's appeal not being just about his looks. Many other things have to factor in as well such as charisma, talent, humility, screen presence etc. he is indeed a wonderful actor who deserves to be admired for his acting abilities alone, not just for his looks, as he is much more than a very pretty face.
