1. The raw, natural talent. I absolutely love the fact that he never trained for theater or acting, yet he is gifted enough to be working alongside some of the biggest names in acting today, many of whom have a great deal of training.
2. The subtlety and nuanced quality of his performances. Few gesticulations, no unnatural mouth movements (are you reading this Jude Law and Nicole Kidman?), no over-emphasis while speaking, no overt scene stealing, just a completely authentic performance every time. Some of those overtrained, overly dramatic actors out there could learn from him. Sometimes I think Cillian's eyes alone can deliver a better performance than many other film actor out there.
3. His choices. He has never sold out or performed in substandard productions just to make a buck or to keep working. He usually manages to recognize a quality script and a good director.
4. The offbeat good looks. As Wes Craven said, not your typical pretty man leading actor. And the fact that he can play up those looks (like Jackson does with his charm and his eyes) or play them down (as regular guy Neil in WTD) so readily in order to suit the character.
5. The way Cillian makes ME feel when I watch him...mostly happy! Now if you can do that as a performer, than your work is done, I think.
