No Zombz not silly really, I think most artists possess these traits such as confidence issues, perfectionism etc or they would be egotistical attention seekers only. It's a really odd and unconventional, unpredictable career path being an artist in any field... The old cliche "not what you know it's who you know", timing, place, face as well as talent but I think that focus, perseverance and total faith in yourself are qualities for artistic success. I believe that a capitalist mind cannot nurture artistic nuance and creation though, I have seen this happen where creative people lose their focus on the art and concentrate on the money objective which blows the whole thing apart. Money and art, art and money... hmmmm. It can be a recipe for disaster! I have also worked with people who had wonderful talents and blew it all by sheer unprofessional behaviour, so sad. Such a waste, so ungrateful. But someone like you, I believe that you have more than enough focus but just maybe you need to believe in yourself a little bit more but it is imperative you create what makes you feel happy! You are immensely talented!

Thanks for these uplifting and also wise words, Shamrocks! There are quite a lot artists who are always doubting themselves, and often these are the really talented ones (while quite often average talented ones aren't lacking in arrogance and hubris... ) I think it's a "sickness" of artists. They see what's wrong or flawed with their stuff because they are talented enough to know, it could be much better. But there's always such a limitation... Sometimes you have the most genius stuff in your head and the result is so frustrating because it matches only remotly to what you have imagined. But maybe it's also part of their talent and professionalism, I guess... A completely satisfyied artist is a dead artist who won't progress (hasn't Cilly said something similar once ?? ) Another personal case with my creating and talent is that I sometimes have difficulties to emerge really great stuff "at the touch of a button". I need inspiration... I need energy... And actually, I am a slave of these components for I feel like I can't raise them from myself, as if they were only accessable through influences from outside. What I need the most, I think, is to learn to be able to raise that power out of nowhwere, so that my creating process isn't limited to my feelings, mood and stuff. Because when you are a professional artist, you can't "wait" for mood and inspiration The money issue I think wouldn't be a problem for me. For I am not someone who needs much money. Actually, I even chose to work (and earn) less so that I have enough time for my creativity. Because this is much more valuable for me than money. But yes, Shamrocks, you are so right: I need to believe more in myself. Selfdoubt is actually a very heavy burden on my shoulders, preventing me to rise to my real powers and possibilities... Imagine what I could do if my self confidence would be unleashed...

Zombie, that's a brilliant way to look at it! i'm sort of an artist myself, not a good one, best decent enough to only find flaws in my work. I think the way you look at it is great, and you're right; It's not just finished with a snap of a finger! You need to be inspired with your idea. Sometimes it can take weeks before actual inspiration can happen. Sigh. You have such a talent.
Oh, and I wanted to say, the t-shirts I made with your artwork have been a huge hit at my school! Most of the students are like, "MORE Cillian Murphy?" and my teachers just roll my eyes and laugh. But, everyone told me how awesome they are. And they certainly bring up interesting conversations with strangers. <3 Thank you so much for letting me use them!

Awwww... thanks Blue! I believe every human being has some talents of art somewhere deep inside them. To express ourselfs in the ways of art is something very human. Since thousands of ages... Sometimes it's just the lack of time and/or ambitiousness, drive or support (in school or by the parents) that keeps a talent that "lies dormant" from arising to its full power and beauty I remember your piece of art (a Cillian drawing ) you once shared with us, Blue, and I can only remember positve aspects of it The ability to actually find flaws in your own work is the first step to reduce the flaws and to learn. OMG I'm still SO flattered that you made these T-shirts !!! And it's so wonderful and amazing for me to hear how they are so well received by your friends. SQUEEEE !! You can't imagine how happy this makes me. It's a pleasure for me that you where using these artworks ! Oh and so funny that even strangers are talking to you about this!!

Ooooooh Zombz! What's happening to that sub zero exterior of his?!?!?! Something is caving in there and I love how your writing reflects your illustrations... it's like they are living and breathing and the circumstances fall where they may. Wow!

Thanks Shamrocks! Yeah, this is in fact the Dillinger from my fic. You're right, my writing does reflect my drawing in this case. Well, it's a side he only reveals when he's alone. I love to imagine him having a weak and vulnerable side which he keeps disguised.

In fact, Bunnie, I HAVE ideas (and even some sketchwork and stuff ) for a second Cillian characters comic. ;D But sadly at the moment I have only little energy and time to continue this project. It's planned as a comic with a storyline, showing EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER Cillian has ever played, including theatre and shorts. It's a huge and quite ambitious project. And I fear it's too huge to be finalized at all ... Also, I have other, professional, comic project plans going on at the moment. But maybe I should just give that Cilllian comic another try. I can tell you... it's SO funny it almost beats Murphys Bar. *sigh* In fact, I really don't want that project to die... would be such a loss.
