forgive me if there is a thread for this. This is for anything we find inspiring. I came across a blog and found the work of artist Dirk Dzimirsky. Can't believe this is all done by pencil. Wish I could learn a few tips from this artist. www.dzimirsky.com/works/works-overview.htmlEDIT: Sorry, I couldn't post my favorite picture so I post the link instead. some of the work is done with charcoal

This is beyond my own skills LOL I wish I could take a look at an original drawing from this artist to see how its done, to see the details. AMAZING !!!

I can't believe those are not photographs! They look incredibly life like! WHOA!
I've always been a great lover of art, especially pencil art. Years ago I had a silly dream of becoming an artist myself but my confidence was taken away by an art teacher back in school though. Now I hate everything I draw and I don't find joy in it anymore. BUT I find great joy in watching other people's amazing works of art!

Let me tell you Victim of Love, that teacher was an a...hole !! My opinion is that EVERYONE has something artistic and creative in him/herself, at least a little feeling about beauty and art and creation. You can encourage that creative feeling in you to come out, you can feed it, train it, you can foster and care for it. But - especially as a teacher - you should not kill it for heavens sake !! The baddest thing that can happen to that little flower in yourself is that someone tramples on it. It needs nurture and not discouragement !!

I know, she was a horrible teacher! I was drawing a lot of scary stuff, I still remember the one drawing that made her lose her patience with me. she asked me to draw a vase; and I have never been much for drawing realistic things. I did draw a few of Michael Jackson though, but I preferred drawing things like I saw them in my mind...
So I drew this black and white drawing of a vase that had these deep cracks in it and blood was running out from them... I worked hard on it and she threw a fit saying I had ruined it.
I have a great love for dark art, the scarier the better actually.

Those drawings are incredible. I have a difficult time drawing anything realistic, I couldn't imagine trying to draw water running off of someone's skin and hair and make it look as life like as this artist has. Absolutely amazing, thanks for sharing that with us, Disarm! I found this woman on dA who does amazing makeup art. My favourite is the carnival, it's just so beautiful to me. I love anything vibrant and colourful! Here is her page: katiealves.deviantart.com/

I love to see creativity in everybody and yes it does need to be nurtured, it's a sensitive thing creativity but it is the most beautiful faculty every human being has!

Wow, disarm - those are completely stunning drawings! Funny thing is, they seem very familiar... I have either run across this artist's work on line before, or I have seen it at a show. I go to Mainsail almost every year in St Pete, and there have been some incredible sketch artists there before. I am always transfixed at those booths...

Holy sh*t, that makeup art is so cool. How do people do that?!!! Not sure yet on which one is my favorite, but wow, look at all those little lights on the carnival rides. My hands shake too much, could never make those tiny details. Thanks for the link Cait speaking of tiny detail, if I had the money my home would have this womans art all over the walls... (Handiedan) I think my favorite is "Broken Geisha" which is the pic I posted. Here is a link to her work www.handiedan.com/handiedan_main_artworks.htmlThis video is something a little different but its very beautiful and kinda sexy youtu.be/bMMlzQsQPk4Attachments:

Cait, that make-up artist is stunning !!! I wanna hire her for halloween LOL I know the pictures of this artist are quite odd and sometimes a little disturbing, but I always liked the extreme starved out looking, exaggereted but yet anatomically correct bodies Egon Shiele has drawn. Attachments:
