I'm so excited because The Cure are nominated for the 2012 Induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Beastie Boys are also among the list of nominees.

Not only are these two of my favorite bands, I think they deserve to be inducted for their contribution to music and their continuing inspiration to countless fans and musicians.
It would really break my heart if Guns 'N Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (who are also 2012 nominees) made it to the Hall of Fame before The Cure or The Beastie Boys. I will always think of GNR and RHCP with nostalgia since they were such big icons of my generation and most of their songs were soundtracks to happy memories of my youth. I'm just a little worried because RHCP and GNR are quickly topping the online fan poll. rockhall.com/get-involved/interact/poll/
I do hope that The Cure and the Beastie Boys get inducted to the Hall of Fame together with RHCP and GNR, and not get left out. Would that be wishful thinking? I don't know how the induction process works, but it seems that for each year, the inductees are split between contemporary bands and older acts and non-performers. Please, please, please, let there be spots for my favorite bands...
