Hi everyone! Since many of us have been wanting to either post or avoid spoilers on the forum lately, I thought I would show you all how to post in "invisible ink". It's the same as making your text colored. Simply highlight the text you want to make "disappear", and choose a color from the pulldown menu, which will bracket it like this:
As you see, the word Red is there (or whatever color you happened to choose). Replace the word of the color with this code:
1BOEOE
Then, when you post it, your text will blend in with the background color of the forum. Putting asterisks before and after your text (outside your color chaning bracket) will let people know where to highlight if they want to read the spoiler.
Hope this helps!

That is such a neat feature!
I am still so tempted to highlight your review in the In Time thread...

will it work for the "light" version of the theme too? No, only the dark skin. It's the color code for the background. It actually hadn't occured to me that member might view using the other skin. Now I'm curious how many people do, seeing as the dark skin is the default. Hmm.

Well, I just tried to get the color code for the light skin, but it wouldn't let me switch over to that one - it kept erroring out. Was doing funky stuff with my password. Sorry! But for future reference - use this nifty little tool to get any color code on the web (you could use this for the light skin): www.nattyware.com/pixie.phpJust click to "Run as portable application", then Save File. Next, open it from your download folder, and this little box will open on your screen. Wherever your pointer sits, Pixie will give you an HTML code: whatever is after the # symbol. That will be the code you use to make invisible ink on the light skin. I know, seem like a lot of work but it's really about 6 seconds' worth.

That's great Pisces! Thanks on behalf of those that like me haven't seen In time yet! PS: megan how can I see the light theme? I'm curious to see if it is better for my eyes!

Well, crap, I just realized something. The invisible text process actually depends on everyone using the same skin, or it won't work. Example: the spoilers I posted the other day for In Time used color code 1BOEOE, which makes it invisible on the dark bakground... but it will show up like a sore thumb on the light background. And vice versa: if someone uses the light background and posts their text so it looks invisible to them, it will show up like crazy to everyone who uses the dark background. LOL. So, I guess this entire thread was a waste of time. LOL. Sorry, everyone! I made the mistaken assumption that everyone uses the dark themed background.

It was a really good idea though, Pisces. I don't know about the forum software here, but on the forum I co-own we have actual spoiler tags that hides the desired part of your post and you will see a button tagged with 'spoiler' and when clicking it it becomes visible... would that be possible here? or is there a code for that? Or what about making a thread for spoilers so people can enter at their own risk? Just ideas really
