Do You have any New Years traditions?
Are they special for your country or region or is it something only you, your family or friends do?
In Denmark its very common to jump into the new year, when I was younger I would jump from a chair when the clock struck 12 but that stopped when I got hurt the 3rd year in a row...
Now my tradition is to pick out 1 song to be the first I listen to in the new year (obviously in my case always a Michael Jackson song) and I know I will be watching Breakfast on Pluto too, and reading the book...
I still need to figure out what song to listen to in 2012... it shouldn't be a last minute decision because I am a little superstitious about this personal tradition of mine and I believe it will have some sort of effect on the entire year...

That is really cool! Well me and my family always stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop in NYC on TV. Usually we try to have a family get together and have some sort of party on that night. Since my family is mostly in Florida that's where we usually go and have a party with my family with lots of food, music, and karaoke. This year I wasn't able to go down there though so it will just be me and my husband, having some drinks and watching the ball drop on TV at our house even though it will be an hour before midnight here. lol Hopefully we will get to see some fireworks too. People usually shoot them off for New Years right after midnight!

My family doesn't do anything...I am always sad because out of all my friends I was the only one who didn't stay up till 12 and stuff because my parents didn't want to...My parents said we could do something this year, but I don't know what. I think that is a brilliant idea to do the song thing, bloody rose! Perhaps I could try something like that...

I hope you will have a great New Years Eve Blue, and I am sure if your parents still don't want to do anything you can still have some fun, right?
I still need to figure what song I'm gonna listen to... and I will of course also listen to 'So New' that is a must!

Usually on new year's eve, we open a bottle of old wine. My grandparents live in a very, very old house, and when they were digging to build a new wall, they found a few bottles. They are mostly from 1910 and earlier, but they're not worth a thing if not emotionnaly. So every year, we open a new one. The wine is usually disgusting because it's too old and was poorly stored (old glass bottles and very, very old corks) but it's fun to drink something that was made a century ago. We drink a good glass of wine and wish a happy new year, full of joy, friendship, happiness, projects, new people, and good experiences. Money is out of the question, because of our ancestors who were very poor peasants in Italy. I don't mind, I don't like money
