Thanks! I think the first two are the cutest I've seen from the whole event yet. These are a bit blurry...

Last night before I went to bed, I saw a tweet from someone who said that Cillian was rude outside the theater, but didn't say how he was rude. So I asked her and she said: @solopisces We were all outside & everyone at least waved if they couldn't stop. He didn't even acknowledge us. Just walked right on by. :/ I've always suspected that people may be mistaking shyness for rudeness. I think that, without a script, Cillian feels lost in front of people who seem to be clamoring for him to DO SOMETHING or SAY SOMETHING, and it probably causes him a lot of anxiety. Then you add in the fact that he knows every little move he makes (or doesn't make) will be immediately reported via Twitter or Facebook, and interpreted as "snotty" or "rude", and it's only going to serve to compound his anxiety over the situation. Which feeds into a vicious circle. I would bet a sizeable sum of money that last night, when Cillian went into the theater without acknowledging that group, he was doing the classic "cut and run", which is a little bit of the fight-or-flight instinct kicking in after a significant stressor. I have actually done this on some occasions myself. Not red carpet ones, of course, but I'm very shy and VERY familiar with stimuli overload and the sudden need to get AWAY from it, no matter how it looks to strangers. LOL. I always think of Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein: "Get me out of here getmethehelloutofhere..." Anyway, I could be wrong on this. Please take my words with a grain of salt. I just think he struggles at these events and if so, then I think he did just fine last night.

I completely get why Cillian would do that, I have done that a lot myself. I would never see that as rude. as much as I get that people would want something from him; he can't help his real personality.
I mean who wouldn't be scared of something like that? and as you say the added pressure of people judging everything he does.

I've also read numerous times that he leaves himself late so, y'know, perhaps he was in a hurry? yes, he might've waved, but what if he just wanted to get inside? But yeah, not a nice thing to read on twitter regardless.

She seems to have deleted her tweet. Guess she realised she was actually jumping to conclusions.

Saw a lot of paparazzi photos of celebs arriving at Salt Lake City airport for Sundance. In almost every photo there is the same group of "fans" -- or make that autograph dealers or whatever -- hounding whomever happened to walk by for autographs and photos. I don't know, that kind of parasitic clamoring must get old for many celebrities. It can be difficult to tell the real fans from the "entrepreneurs" in the gatherings, I would imagine. Don't discount jet lag either, my guess is that he flew in late and is flying right back out ASAP.

Well she's deleted now. Probably looked back and thought it sounded stupid. So the man didn't make eye contact with her. It's hardly a crime.

It could very well be that Cillian is actually shy, and we all know that he don't likes crowds. In my opinion people shouldn't judge him by that or interprete his behavior regardlessly as rude. They know NOTHING about what he is like as a person in his privat life. Personality is so much more than just a small segment of behavior someone witnesses for about half a minute. How can one judge a person by such a small segment? It's so typically human... *sigh* There could be so much possibilities why Cillian was not noticing that crowd. Maybe he was in a hurry... maybe he wasn't in the mood for chatting or giving autographs or whatever... maybe someone was waiting for him... maybe his thoughts were somewhere else... IDK... I'm shy too, very shy. And sometimes, when I'm not feeling comfortable in any kind of situation, I prefer to skip it, to run away, rather than to confront that situation and risking to make of fool out of myself or to act strange towards the others, and so on... Of course I would prefer if Cillian was more open. That would grant me more interviews and stuff LOL And of course he has to accept his fans as an important part of his work he can't just overlook. But he has the right to have his own personality, his mood and his feelings. After all he's still a normal guy and fans should accept that their idols don't "belong" to them. They are normal people who just want to have a normal life. That's why I hate everything about paparazzi, btw... But that's another topic LOL

Not to sound off-topic, but I once read a review of In Time highly praising Cillian's performance that said something I never forgot: that the movie could be shown as an example of the difference between a celebrity (Timberlake) and a Real Actor (Cillian). And I believe that difference often extends to the red carpet as well. Most people are accustomed to seeing celebrities mugging for the camera at these events, because they're so at ease with the spotlight. Cillian's just different. He's not a celeb, doesn't wish to be. He's all about delivering the best performance possible, and that's his entire focus. Hard to fault that, when the performances are as good as his are. After all he's still a normal guy and fans should accept that their idols don't "belong" to them. They are normal people who just want to have a normal life. Well said!!!

I'd imagine that a smile and a wave would probably let him off the hook. We know that he's shy. We know he hates this stuff. Sometimes something as simple as that gives them the green light, though, and they go from being 'rude' to 'omg he waved'. But again, not going to judge him on it. She's deleted the post anyway so chances are it might not have been how she has written it anyway. What if he was in a group, mid conversation, and none of them stopped? Plenty of other tweets say he's a pocket sweetheart cutie.

Firstly, those photos are AMAZING!!! ;D I love his beanie, he looks so adorable in it. Every time I see that man he looks more and more gorgeous - he looks perfect. As for Cillian being "rude", I think the same thing, they are mistaking shyness for rudeness. He seems much more comfortable and willing to speak to his fans on a smaller level, not in a crowd. The whole red carpet thing could be very overwhelming for him, for all we know. He's there in support of his film, not to draw attention to himself. I think anyone who has been a fan of Cillian for a while should know that this is typical behaviour of him and to not take it personally. Also, I don't want to put a damper on anything but I just found this article: latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2012/01/sundance-2012-false-start-for-red-lights.html

Yeah we've kind of been discussing the articles and it all seems very, well, negative :/ You know when you have a feeling in the back of your mind but it's totally gutting when it actually turns out to be the case? I had that feeling about this film. It's really frustrating me because nobody else has read script (though some people have it) and I can't discuss it, but I guess it's my own fault for reading it.
I see a very very limited release for this one, regardless of the talent on offer.
