Please don't get me started on the longish hair, I might become very shallow I think looking at his hair makes 90% of men over 30 quietly sob out of sheer envy I hope they don't charge the rock star look too much, he doesn't need it. He already has the flair of a rock star, that's something I've always thought about him. In some days more than in others, but he often makes me think of a rock star, even without any tattoos or weird stuff

*SPOILER ALERT*I've just read the story, it was really sad and beautiful. According to the synopsis of the film by Max Ophuls on IMDb, if this new film writes as the previous Max Ophuls film it will take away the poignant centre of the story. The fact the artist receives this letter in the original Zweig story is the unknown writer's fate. Personally, I think the story has been shredded to death by the Ophuls film by introducing a jealous husband, a duel and the unknown writer abandoning her son and the husband etc. It's turned it into a tacky soap opera. Too much salt in the bread dough I say. I do hope they keep the essence of the story in it's whole and just elaborate the true characters only. So much can be done with this little piece without upsetting the beauty and simplicity of the beautiful tragedy. I read it as one of those beautiful French movies I used to escape into on Channel 4 "Film on 4" when every one in the family had sodded off to bed to leave me in peace! I really hope it becomes just like one of those films!

OK I've read the short story. By the way, it was written in 1922, so the copyright has expired, you can freely download it without any guilt, I think, at least in the original language. I agree it must not be sappy. I understand the 40s film is very melodramatic. I hope the new one is not, the story is very essential and it should remain like that, IMHO. I really do not think it's a big flight of fancy to imagine Cillian as the object of that kind of obsession...though - at least in the short story - the girl doesn't look like a fan to me, more like a stalker! Yikes! It's a very sad story, hope they keep it simple. The rockstar plot does make sense, though the basic premise is a bit odd. I mean the way she meets him. Anyway, I really liked the writing and it's very well built.

Yes some of the things the girl does in the story are very creepy... like kissing the door handle!?!?!?! Going out side to watch which lights turn on and off in his apartment, just generally hanging about really... eww.

Yet it was fascinating.....people's behaviour is often very weird, if you look closer By the way, he's growing his hair! Lookee here 24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5vrrcGykI1ruz2ajo2_500.jpgMorphing into a rock star already? I wonder when they're starting filming. If anything happened to Wayfaring Strangers. Hmmmmm

Well, on the last interview he did not even mention Letter from an unknown woman..nor any other thing, but I'm sure he's got an ace on his sleeve and will sort it out at the less expected... Right now, Murphy doesn’t have anything officially lined up work-wise. “It was a pretty tiring year, so I’m recovering,”

No, but in the other one he did, and with some precision. I think the Red Lights interviews were prior to the Indie London one!

Ooooohhh, me too. That's the Indie London interview. I really hope Brendan Gleeson secures all the funding so I can have my double helping of Cilly & Michael and I can die a happy munchkin

Erm, I have a fetish for men's hair and I must say he's got glorious hair. I don't think it's Capa-length now (uh, Capa....), but wait a few weeks.....
