This is probably fairly easy to do, but I can't figure it out. I tried playing a DVD on my PC, then paused it and tried to right-click to save the image to get a screen cap, and that didn't work. I couldn't get it to copy, either.
What's the easiest way to get screen caps? Thanks for any help.

so, you played whatever movie on Windows Media player, pressed 'print screen' and tried to copy and past on Paint, and it didn't work!?

huh! *scratches head* so which part doesn't work!? Cuz if you can copy/paste in Paint, then you're all set! Make sure when you've paused the scene you want on Windows Media Player, that you click on the picture, THEN press "Print Screen". Sometimes it won't copy unless you do that.

Alrighty so I did what nee said and set the hardware acceleration to none so I could cap using WMP. But when I did that, the video, instead of being widescreen-ish, became square. So now the picture is all compressed. Er, how do I fix that? Cause I can save the pictures now, but they're.. well, ugly.
