I came across this past blog (including a very boyish 34 years old Cillian), and concerning Cillian's next steps on his career and his intentions of not doing big films for now, it saddens me to read the very last part, wich is absolutely oposite to his purposes and our thoughts about it. www.shenzhen-standard.com/2010/09/12/actors-spotlight-cillian-murphy/

I think he just needs a break, to be honest. It'll be easier on him to work close to home. I can't imagine that he's going to permanently stop doing bigger films. At least I really hope not! That would be sad indeed.

oh, yes...everyone needs a time to recap and "clear the deck." If I am right, that were his exact words about his future projects after Misterman. Maybe on doing big films he's thinking: ok, been there. Done that. What's the point? Particularily I find his "blockbusters" as the ones who showed little of his great acting skills (well, maybe Inception was a little bit more "juicy") about In Time...I know you all adore Raymon the time keeper, but his role was a little bit "rigid". In comparison with "Peac*ck" or "Retreat" or "Sunshine" even his previous films such as "Disco Pigs" where he showed to be a more than gifted actor, seemed not to show all his potential, because maybe the characters were a bit flat. Hey, this is just my opinion. I don't know, but maybe the fact of seeing him on Misterman, which absolutely blew me away, takes to think that never, never a film will be capable of showing such an iridiscent stage present. I could not reckon at all any the "cillians" seen before on any of his movies. It was like....watching such a great performance live, right in front of you, is an unbeatable experience. Not only for us, the audience. But surely for him too. I've read on declarations from other film actors that have performed powerful roles on stage (i.e. Hamlet/Jude Law or Cumberbatch / Frankenstein) that's is difficult to focus on anything further projects, since you feel sort of "empty" and disoriented after finishing, finding hard to get a project apealing enough as to be done next. But, I do hope that the movie "Letter from un unknown woman" be his next project and it be feasible for him to do it. I do hope it.

I really cannot picture Cillian as a "megastar" as Cruse and company. He is not a superstar, he's an Actor and his face is not going to be plastered on teenagers rooms' walls. Thank Heavens for that! He always chose wisely. Even the not so good movies, he did them for a reason. I trust his judgement. I know he chooses films according to the script. Sometimes good script turn out sour, but he's got quite an eye.

I don't know if this is simply a remix of all his pasts interviews, all glued in here (a blog???) there was a direct link on twitter. But I do recognize some of the words from previous ones. Anyway, it's always a pleasure to see Cillian's points of view on important things such as work, family, cinema industry, etc..I know recently some new members have joined the forum, so this is a good one to get to know him better... www.tonyclaytonlea.com/interview-cillian-murphy/
