Not entirely sure how I managed to not hear about this play at all until now but I'm definitely going to be heading to it. It's by Enda Walsh and also stars Stephe Rea, another of the great Irish actors. It's running from the 7th of August until the 23rd. More details here: www.olympia.ie/whats-on/ballyturk/ Can't wait to see Cillian on stage again.

In Dublin... He's hasn't done any theatre work in the U.S. yet, has he?
Enda Walsh does some pretty great work so it's good to see them collaborating again.

AS far as i know he hasn't done work in the US but i could be wrong. You never know, maybe this play will do well and travel.
I love all of Enda's work that I'm familiar with so I've got high hopes for this.

Enda and Cillian brought Misterman to Brooklyn, New York, in December 2011. It was pretty amazing.
Looking forward to seeing Ballyturk at the Galway Arts Festival in July!

Anyone know what the plot is?
The play's website just has:
"Ballyturk I thought we knew everything there was to know. The lives of two men unravel quickly over the course of 90 minutes. Where are they? Who are they? What room is this, and what might be beyond the walls?"
It sounds fairly existential in a Waiting for Godot kind of way. Hope someone posts a spoiler-free synopsis or a review if they go watch it in July!

If you would have listened the interview you posted on the "News, Interviews..." section, you would know the answer. I wish you all the best in your attempt to revive this forum. I sort of tried it once, but all I managed to do was to make myself seem like a judgemental fool. Hope you'll do better. Razzthekid: I too like Stephen Rea. There's a man who knows what subtlety is. Ireland seems to produce a lot of fine actors for such a small country(geographically). Edit: Forgot to say thank you to Gobby for the interview. I especially like the ones with audio 'cause I'm all for phonetic pleasures.

Oh, might have to listen to it again.
The general gist of Cillian's explanation seemed to be: Enda Walsh's writing cannot be described/summarized.
Did you get a different take from it?

So the play was amazing, all the actors put in amazing performances but Cillian stood out for me. He's just got this energy about him and he transforms so quick from one emotion to the next. He's just unbelievable.
The play is definitely one that won't be easily forgotten- incredibly funny and touching while also being very edgy, dark and thought provoking. If anyone gets a chance to go see I highly recommend doing so. Can't think of a single bad word to say about it.
Oh and yeah it is along the lines of Waiting for Godot when it comes to the themes at its core.
