PGRMRGirl and I went to see the lovely Dr. Crane on the IMAX the other night and we probably were just as bad. We went spastic every time he came on. The audience probably thought we were escapees from Arkham. Yeah, we were trying to remain in control and every time that gorgeous face would come up, we'd practically SQUEAL with delight! Seeing it at the IMAX was AWESOME. Not just for the eye candy, but because you can really see how well he acts. So much of his acting is in his face, his mannerisms. They're subtle and it was great to see the little nuances that you can't really see on the regular movie screen. I can't wait until the DVD comes out. Can anybody say "Pause and Rewind", boys & girls? Oh yes, indeed. Oh yes indeedy-deed!

That would be awful... Help me out here, one thing I didn't get in the movie: If Fox was able to make an antidote, why the hell didn't Crane have one? It would have been quite logical if Crane had injected an antidote already, since he was using that gas non-stop. Was the gas just filtered through the mask and that's why it didn't affect him earlier? Argh, I'm confused. The inside of the mask looked like it had a filtering unit in it so he would not be affected. Although when he throws it at Batman & Rachel he doesn't seem to be protected & I didn't notice him washing his hands afterward. I think maybe he's arrogant enough to believe it would never be used ON him - just by him - so he doesn't have an antidote. Still - raises a few questions tho.

He was already on the steady change into the scarecrow, I believe the turning point was when he was in the straight jacket and the guard throws the mask to him and says, "Go have fun." The way the camera briefly shoots to his face and you can simply tell, especially in the IMAX theatre that he has become something more than human. While human he was succeptable to the abuse of others, but with his mind so blissfully free from the outside world around him, he is the most powerful creature in his own existence. I shall be excited to see him and his opinion of himself, from swarthy confidence to sheer invincability. Cillian is the kind of actor that can pull that off. I know it!

How very true Belle. You can see that transformation from being a confident, but still a vulnerable human being to being the invincible and fearless Scarecrow in just that one look when he looks up after he is thrown his mask and is told "Time to Play." Brilliant how he conveyed that in his eyes.

I was on this Dutch frum checking out what everyone thought about Batman Begins (okay actually about Cillian ) I'm not a member of the forum but If I was I would have killed this stupid guy on there. He said (this is translated o'course) that 'Cillian Murphy is another British dude with talking problems.' Dude, he is Irish! And no way Cillian can have problems. I might make an account just to flame that dude... xD Lucky for him this took my anger away a little bit 'Faring better are smaller roles from Rutger Hauer and Cillian Murphy, the later as the secondary villain The Scarecrow. I loved The Scarecrow concept as a villain and his nightmarish visage is rendered superbly onscreen, yet he has such little screentime in the mask its a disappointment. Murphy spends a lot more time in his unmasked Jonathan Crane persona and plays the creepy and unethical doctor quite well (though he's a little too pretty for the part). Ra's Al Ghul, despite missing the immortal and Talia elements from the comics, is otherwise intact and his scenes draw some interesting discussions over the differences between ideology, vigilantism and revenge. Look for a great several scene cameo by Mr. Zsasz as well as a former screen villain's "calling card" at the end.' Hence the 'he's a little to pretty for the part' ^^
