Why did Jackson make it so personal by going after her? And especially after being told Keefe was now safe? I think an alternate ending would be one where he does escape & she's left looking over her shoulder as it were.

I would've had it where somehow she informs her dad, then gets to her dad's house and a covered body is pulled out on a stretcher. She think's it's her dad but her dad appears at the door. The police are there and somehow they seem to think that they found evidence that the body is that of a Jackson Rippner. So she assume's he's dead... A time lapse could then show Lisa running her hotel as normal, everything appearing to be great. Lisa disappears into an office in the hotel and a mysterious figure who's not seen clearly walks to the reception desk and places a case on the desk. Then the camera pans up and we see the man, who now takes his shades off and reveals himself to be...Jackson baby! And he says in his obviously sore and raspy voice "I'd like to book a room please." And still manages to throw his trademark charm to dopey-eyed Cynthia. It could end there as a possible sequel? Because I blamed Jackson's blinding rage over her screwing up his job that resulted in his clumsly attempt to kick her arse good and proper (it didn't help that he had a pretty nasty trachea problem either). So maybe holding back and biding his time mean't that he could use his skills from his profession to create a more solid attempt at catching her off guard and making her squirm, via her lovely hotel. Or he could just fall into her arms like he should do really.  But that's just me. I'm not a sadist or anything, I swear. I like Lisa...but...I'm just a Jackson hoe! LOL. I would kinda hope though that he wouldn't go after her like he did in the film. But part of me wants to see the tension again. Sounds crap but my headache isn't helping right now.  |

auroreiel, believe me, no one here would fault that ending of yours!!!  And I doubt anyone here would call you a "sadist" for suggesting that Jackson is alive. Trust me, debates have raged fast and hot here for days now that Jackson isn't dead, and I don't know if I posted this in a thread somewhere, but the ending was classic Wes Cravem when you think about it. In his Scream trilogy, he has made it look as though the bad-guy was dead, killed by the teenager du-jour but managed to bring him back for 2 more movies before killing him dead. So why not Jackson? If Jackson can come to Lisa's house and give her a bit of an arse-whopping before finally going down, then his "tracheotomy" cant have been that serious, now, can it?? Oh, I think we shall be seeing some more of Mr. Rippner. Maybe in a year, when all the fuss has died down, then Wes Craven will shock us all with a sequel. And when he does, he would be well-advised to check out some of the fan-fic by our blue-star moderator, Ms. SHANNON. She has an amazing prequel AND sequel on the fan-fic subforum, which everybody should check out. It is completely believable and the prequel made Red Eye even more enjoyable for me!!! Check it out, folks!!! |

Oh, I think we shall be seeing some more of Mr. Rippner. Maybe in a year, when all the fuss has died down, then Wes Craven will shock us all with a sequel. And when he does, he would be well-advised to check out some of the fan-fic by our blue-star moderator, Ms. SHANNON. She has an amazing prequel AND sequel on the fan-fic subforum, which everybody should check out. It is completely believable and the prequel made Red Eye even more enjoyable for me!!! All this talk of alternative endings had me thinking too….
I was thinking that once she tells Jackson that Keefe and his family are safe and that Jackson’s plan fails. Then hes all all shocked and everything…
He jus leaves Lisa and her dad and drives away…but she’s all suspicious of what he’s might do next so she follows him to like some house (or police station can’t decide now)
And then we find out that he was jus doing all this coz they had one of his family member held…just like Lisa’s dad…so he had to do all that mean stuff…u know coz he had to save his sister/brother or someone…that would have been quite a twist and I think Cillian could pull off the change in character…
Althought I like the other one too...about the sequel

Shannon, when it's thr truth, it doesn't count as flattery!!
I'm serious. Some of the fic we have on our forums, that are directly movie related would make terrific material for the sequel. And I loved loved loved your prequel. I remember thinking - this makes perfect sense. How he got to know of Lisa, and even later in your sequel, where you have Cynthia recognize Jackson as Brian!!!
All that is brill so the truth doesn't count as flattery!
Hey maybe I'll become a lawyer!! It'd be great to follow in at least one of Cillian's chosen career paths!!
