Not dead.
Lots of people don't like the villians, which makes sense, but I've always loved the evil ones. Plus, Jackson's character was likeable.
Dr. J C, same here! lmao Stupid people.

Only evil people wants to keep the villian alive. He died. Just because it was breathing doesn't mean anything. He took his last breath and died.

Hey, C'mon. It's got nothing to do with being evil or wishful thinking. I think most of us here feel, not just because it's Cillian, that Jackson wasn't really bad through and through, that it has the same borderline evil/good touches that, for ex. Arnold Schwarzenegger had in Terminators 1 and 2. He came back as good Arnold in 2.
Which is why most of us are hoping for a sequel. If Jackson IS bad to the bone, then yes, Lisa should kick his ass and KILL HIM DEAD! But for now, he is alive.
What is not shown in movies mustn't always be assumed. Mortals or wizards, the story was tight enough that if he survived the tracheotomy (which should have killed him to begin with - it's his damned windpipe, for god's sake!! - he needs it to breathe!) and his eyes were still open AND we heard the siren then he's alive.
Sorry - don't mean to rant or even condone Jackson in any way. But I know his character is mean for what he is doing, but he is wwaaaayyy more human ..

I forgot about the windpipe. So with the windpipe shatter and the gun shots, that means he died!

*gasp* That doesn't mean I'm evil! I just think the villians are real interesting characters. Oh, let me rephrase what I've been saying about this whole situation: I'm pretty sure he didn't die. I'm not 100% sure he isn't but like Dr. J, we shouldn't assume.

I think Wes Craven is good at exhibiting people dying/dead (look at his past movies). He usually doesn't show someone on the floor, STILL breathing and then letting the audience assume they're dead. If he wants them dead, he usually "shows" them dead. As far as I remember the movie (seen it 3 times), they never show Jackson dead! I think he left it like that so that there could be room for a sequel. He probably wanted to know how well Red Eye would do before making that decision.

He. Did. Not. Die. Like I've said 10 million times, how can they be talking about a sequel WITHOUT Cillian? I mean. Come on now.

Good point, I was thinking along the same lines. Didn't Wes say he would love to do a sequel? Well, for that Jackson would have to be alive, or I would at least think so. This post is pointless, I'm just throwing my 'he's still alive' two cents.
