Seems Cillian is re-teaming with Danny Boyle and Alex Garland for a new film called, Sunshine. ;D Soooo cool! It's been recently announced on IMDB but no word on the plot and co-stars. Though, here's a blurb on SciFi.com with no mention of Cillian.
This is all so exciting but I wish we could actually see the films. June is still too far out to see Batman Begins. I guess it's great that he's a working actor, huh? Our fave, no less!
Kisses, Jo

Just speculating, but could Cillian be Danny's new muse as Ewan [McGregor] was earlier in his directing career? Well, maybe muse is not the correct term. I'm sure you know what I'm getting at. Well, that was just a random thought I had.

Sure, like Tarintino and Uma Thurman! You have to admit, 28 Days Later wouldn't 've been the same with a different leading actor! I can't think of anyone else that could've done that role...I can think of some good-looking actors, but none of them could've pulled off playing our vunerable, confused hero that has lost his family. He makes you care about him and want to help him. I'm glad you found this, Jo--I didn't know about it! Hope the sun doesn't desinigrate him--we need him!

Well, that was just a random thought I had. Ooh ...don't forget that the connection between Alex Garland and Cillian Murphy is the talented Paloma Baeza... ( Watchmen, The way we live now, Sunburn) It's great to know that we are going to be watching Cillian in a slew of films in the very near future , and you know what comes along with the films ..publicity! Articles a go go!!! ( much to Cillians horror no doubt )

Just wanted to let anybody that's interested know that Sunshine's going to be on TV on the SYFY channel tonight at 6:30 PM in the States. I've watched it already, but I just wanted to let you guys know in case there's somebody out there who hasn't watched it... It's not to be missed if you haven't watched it.

Funny co-incidence! Totally out of the blue I decided to borrow my dad's dvd copy of Sunshine today - as felt really in the mood for watching it again, seeing as I've not watched it in some months. And that was literally just around a couple of hours ago before logging in and seeing this! Seconding Rukia's comment. For anyone who's not seen this before, it's well worth checking out. Thanks for the alert Rukia!

Just wanted to do a little advertising for Sunshine - it's going to be on the Sci-Fi channel again this week - Thursday at 11:30PM, EST. I did myself a favor and watched a couple weeks ago when it was on - and was reminded all over again what is so wonderful about this movie - Robert Capa. It occured to me that the scenes involving Pinbacker could have been edited out completely without affecting the movie much at all... and I wish they had been. It would be fascinating if someone created a "fan's cut" of Sunshine, sans Pinbacker, to approximate the ending some of us wish had been in place. LOL. Again, though... the main draw is the particle physicist on board. (drooling...) A more scruffily gorgeous embodiment of courage has never been seen. He's no Rippner, lol, but he has his own powerful appeal.

Thanks for deleting my post. Those with contrary opinions, however reasoned, need not apply, eh?
Sunshine is a whole lot of pretty wrapped around a very weak script. Go ahead, it's your board. Delete me again.

Thanks for deleting my post. Those with contrary opinions, however reasoned, need not apply, eh? Sunshine is a whole lot of pretty wrapped around a very weak script. Go ahead, it's your board. Delete me again. If you've not already, would recommend checking through the site posting rules before making any more posts. It's possible you made a post that breached one of them - without you realising. In such cases moderators retain the right to delete posts at their own discretion at any time. However, you've every right to pm the moderator who deleted your post and ask them the reason for the post removal if you're unclear. On this occasion it wasn't me, as I've not been around much for the last week or so. But Rukia, Pisces and Razz are the other active moderators here. If it happened that any one of them deleted your post I'm sure they'll be more than happy to explain the reasons why to you. Also, I will just confirm here it's not against the site rules to express a difference of opinion. And I'm sure nobody has a problem with what you just posted there, despite however much or little they might agree. I can't really comment on the post you made before that's no longer here though as am not aware of what it was you said in it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts there Pisces! It occured to me that the scenes involving Pinbacker could have been edited out completely without affecting the movie much at all... and I wish they had been. I totally agree. In all frankness - though maybe there's still something I'm somehow overlooking - I thought they just made the story confusing rather than adding anything of value to it. The whole idea of Pinbacker turning up the way he did towards the end of the movie just struck me as something thought up at the last minute in an attempt to increase the shock factor for audiences. While overall I do like the movie - I think it could have been alot better if the writers had chosen to take a different approach on that. Again, though... the main draw is the particle physicist on board. (drooling...) A more scruffily gorgeous embodiment of courage has never been seen. He's no Rippner, lol, but he has his own powerful appeal. Only too true! I still can't help having an extra soft spot for Rippner, but Capa is every bit as captivating in his own way ;D

I just watched this again, and I'm still in tears over Capa's inspiring heroism. Gosh I love this movie!
