I'm expecting 28 Days Later to win this as it is his probably biggest film & also very good. However i went for Intermission, i loved that film, i suppose you could say it is the 1st good film in a new era of irish films. Previuos irish films have been set in poverty & unemployment, the usual irish things but this one is et in modern day ireland & it shows. It is a very real film, seeing the 2 boyz stacking shelves at super value, earlier films you would not see that, small but relevant. Plus Colin Farrell & Colm Meaney join Murphy in it, what a cast.

My vote went to Disco Pigs, but I'd say it's really a tie between that and Intermission - I loved the raw humour of the latter - Intermission had many of the same darkly comic elements as Trainspotting (which is my very favourite film ever, ever!) ...but I also really admired Disco Pigs for it's originality and strange beauty (one hell of an achievment for a first-time director & Kirsten is only in her 20's!) - it had a dark fairy-tale quality, almost surreal, and truly beautiful despite it's violence... - so, let's just call it a toss-up between two very different, but very cool films.

Hello! New member here. great site by the way! I chose On the Edge because it's the only film other than Bambi to make me cry every time I watch! I went through mental health problems myself as a teenager and I wish I could have had Cillian to help me through! Carla

Yeah, it was kind of hard at first to choose between Disco Pigs and 28DL...then I saw Intermission, and that made it harder. In the end, though, I chose Disco Pigs because of the depth of that film, everything about it (acting, characters, story, directing...) is absolutely fantastic.
Hi Carla! Thanks and welcome. On The Edge is a brilliant film too...very touching and it made me cry. Funny, my dvd cover says that it's a comedy; I guess, it did have its humourous moments.

I went with 28 Days Later. Yes, it was my first Cillian film and what made me an fan. I just really like the movie. I'm an huge fan of horror films but it was much more than that. It was about human nature - who's scarier humans or the infected, love, "rage", happiness at the end of the rainbow, life, sticking together, growth, death, etc. OTE is #2 and DP is #3.

I am totally with Mizmode, I love horror movies and the fact that it was foreign made it even better, cuz I am from the US and alot of the scary movies here are sooo commercial I saw 28 DL for the 3rd time yest. and the characters are soo real,, they have depth. I also saw the alternate ending for the first time too. Man I almost cried seeing Cill die! but I liked the 1st ending better. He's so awesome in 28DL but the truth is I loved that movie way b4 I began crushing on him so the movie deserves its respect, I give it 3 thumbs up
