^ I was just textin my friend earlier sayin we have to do a Christmas movie night soon! Home Alone, Elf, Look Who's Talkin Now, Meet Me in St. Louis and It's a Wonderful Life are all on the menu. This might sound weird but my favorite Christmas movie is The Ref. LOL. It's not exactly family fare, and it's rather mean-spirited and cynical, but I laugh so hard at it that it makes my face hurt. Denis Leary is God. LOL.

OH I have seen a movie which I would like to rate: Paranormal Activity 1+2 (Both movies 2/10) *Spoilers !!!* Being a fan of subtle horror movies in the style of Blair Witch Project where the horror doesn't comes from the gore effect, neither of seeing too much, but from creepy sounds and darkness and such things, I rent me these two parts, looking forward to a horror that feels real. But I got dissapointed... The most scaring thing was the open door of the couple's bedroom, giving view to the dark. (I'm afraid of darkness LOL) Everything else was just boring or kitschy or uninspired.... And that "choppy walking dark haired girl" thing worked in The Ring because it was totally new, but now is just worn out and you see it in so many horror movies nowadays... Part two is even more boring... End of line

Whahahaha!!! Just found out that the one who played Rusty is Johnny Galecki !! LOL ;D How funny, Zombie! I just found that out about a week ago!! I watched this movie because it's also one of my favourites and I kept looking at him, thinking I knew him from somewhere, and then I looked up the credits! I love love love him in Big Bang Theory, and it was nice to see him in In Time, too. I just finished watching Taken with Liam Neeson. Such a brilliant film, and I enjoy it every time I watch it. So much action and suspense! Liam is definitely one of my favourite actors (hmm, why are all of my fave actors Irish? ). He is so badass in this movie!

The Polar Express
My all time favorite Christmas movie not only are the animations well done and Tom Hanks does a great job but the story is so pure and magical in the right way! It's got a moral without shoving it i you face and for me it leaves a mark everytime I watch it...
For me it reminds me of a very magical Christmas Eve I had when I was 15, curious how a shooting star at the right moment can make you believe in miracles! Since that night I have believed there is a santa somewhere, laugh all you want tho...

I watched "Mao's Last Dancer" recently, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Also saw an older Danny Boyle film called "Millions," which I would again recommend, especially as a holiday movie.

i hadn't been to the cinema in ages and now i've been to see two amazing films in the past week. Take Shelter. Starring Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. 8.5/10Really brilliant film. Wonderfully shot and edited. Award worthy performances from Shannon and Chastain. Great mixture of emotions and styles and all based on a great idea, one which is also quite disturbing and upsetting as you can see how frightening mental illness is. The ending i thought was good but also a bit strange, i usually like ambigous endings like In Bruges but this one i'm a bit undecided on. Overall though a stunning film- in every way! The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. 9/10Have to admit, being an avid reader i've never read this trilogy. I've picked them up and considered them plenty of times but never brought them to the counter! I most certainly will be now. This movie is exactly what i expected from Fincher and more. Deadly soudtrack, great opening, raw and real- some scenes of course are hard to watch, as is usually the case with Fincher involved- but it's just a thrilling, interesting, sexy, intelligent, funny, stylish and brilliantly acted movie. I'd go see it again and i will be buying the books asap. Oh and it's only served to heighten my obsession with Sweden! Top of my list of countries i want to visit.

I saw Warrior and, because I have an undeniable soft spot for Tom Hardy, I really enjoyed it. It was similar to The Fighter in a lot of things; two brothers, one better than the other, one damaged, the other trying to keep up. Living with a less than perfect home life and trying to keep above water. A good drama.

Shutter (2004) Thai w/subtiles, 8.2/10If you're looking for a horror film with mystery, scares, racked-up suspension and a cringe-worthy ending, then this is the film for you. Basically the story is about a couple, Tun and Jane, who get caught up in a hit-and-run car accident when a young woman walks into the street without looking. Initially, all is well until Tun, who is an avid photographer, notices that the chilling ghost of the young woman starts appearing in his photographs. And as the story gets deeper, so does the truth of the young woman's past... Strongly recommend to anyone who is looking for a decent foreign film

The Elephant Man 10/10
Not since I watched Breakfast on Pluto for the first time last year has a movie made me cry so hard, and yell at the screen... A good friend of mine has this as her fave movie and kept telling me to watch it but I never got 'round to it before they showed it on TV and whoa... if that's not an emotional movie I don't know what is! You have an instant sympathy for the poor intelligent man stuck in such a deform body never being able to escape peoples cruel misunderstandings and the horrors people put him through just because they refused to understand... It gripped my heart and it didn't get better when knowing it's not only based on a true story but it's so true for so many people...

Haywire 5/10
I saw this film with my sister and we were really looking forward to it, I mean the trailers made it look so awesome. Unfortunately I was ready to leave 20 minutes into the movie. I kept waiting and waiting for it to get better but it didn't. The fight scenes were cool but only because of the moves and techniques used, other than that they were boring. There was no background music, I find that when background music is used especially in fighting scenes gets you amped and excited, and when there was music it was basically 70's porno beats. I have been a fan of Gina since her American Gladiator days but I am sorry to say she can't really act. Her voice is too monotone and there is no emotions whatsoever. The best part for me was Bill Paxton and he was only in it for 10 minutes tops.

This Means War...I give it 3.5/5
it's a good see if you're a Tom Hardy/Reese Witherspoon/Chris Pine fan--the comedy is good yet cheesy. I saw this with my dad an hour ago and it was a good bonding moment for us.

Good Morning, Vietnam - 10/10 What can I say? I loved it, every bit of it. Robin Williams is great. The lines are great. The scenario is great. All of the actors are great. It's a great movie. A classic. Awesome. Must watch. Must watch again if already watched.
