I actually just saw Retreat for the first time! 8/10 Mr Bell completely creeped me out! Really good casting I say... I felt proper claustrophobic! The end had me all tangled up in an emotional bag if spanners. Not quite where you'd wish it would end up!

It's a terrible ending, the kind of movie that leaves you an unease feeling, I could barely see without covering my eyes Cillian's final scenes. No chemistry, though, with her "wife" Tandie Newton. And superb acting of Jamie Bell..I agree with the claustrophobic sensation too...Forgive me, Cillian, but this is your only movie that I could not stand watch twice despite that torso!

^^I love Retreat. I got my dad and brother to watch it and they both thought it was brilliant too, Really tense and intriguing. Anna Karenina. Starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. 9/10I was astounded by this film. Joe WRight had already made his way to the top of my favourite director list with Atonement and Hanna but then this.....wow. It's just a complete marvel. I know some people may say it's just him showing off and that all the visual trickery takes away from the story and the character i don't believe that at all. I was completely engaged with the story throughout and i thought all the actors did great jobs. Keira was completely faultless and her performance was very nuanced and never over the top. Jude Law was another surprisingly great role in this. Even more minor characters like Matthew McFayden put in great turns. I highly recommend this movie, as a beautifully crafted peice of cinematography and a role that shows that Keira Knightley is really a very talented actor and doesn't deserve all the criticism that was heaped on her at the beginning of her career, and still sometimes is. (Personally i think mainly comes from women who are basically jealous of her stunning looks and acting talent and the fact that she seems so down to earth. They resen her for it.) Anyhow, bottom line, go see this film no matter what!
