I know I'm a bit late with this - but wanted to reply in here anyway!
Can't blame you for not approaching him; I wouldn't have, either. In a situation like that, there's not much you can say to him that he hasn't heard before, unfortunately. But you will always be able to remember being that close to him, which is more than most people can say! Thank you SO much for posting your account of the night!! ;D
Seconding Pisces comments there Razz. That must have been such a terrific experience, and that's so great you got to see him for real too But without a doubt I would have ended up doing exactly the same as you in that situation. Like Pisces said though, you still get to have the fantastic memory of seeing and being near him for real! ;D
He and one of the stage directors(?) were walking around the block, smoking and talking for about an hour around lunch time. i dont know if anyone cares but he wore a green plaided button shirt, jeans and the usual leather boots and shades (it was a very bright day). and he was out smoking and talking behind the theatre before the show, in the break and right after the show as well.
Trust me TT we do care! Especially as we don't all get to be as lucky as that! That's great that you got to see him too and also enjoyed the play!
Incidentally I've never been 100% sure up to now whether or not Cillian is a smoker (at least off screen). I guess that means he is!
Wow, Razz- I am SO envious of you!! Not surprised to hear that he's that stunning in real life.

I won't really write a review, but as you all seem to be very excited here's a few tidbits:
