maybe he had to go right to the set and needed to have long hair. It's not uncommon for actors to do such a thing for parts.

Maybe. Someone should have asked him at the premiere.
"Yes, fangirl in the back going hysterical?"
"*squee* CILLIAN! ARE THOSE EXTENSIONS?! *giggles insanly and passes out*"
Ok...maybe that would have been me...

Look how short his hair is there. And NOW look at it within a month's time. It doesn't add up to me. Unless his hair grows REALLY fast.

Yeah. So, I'm not expecting the long hair phase to last very long.

I'm glad people got some enjoyment from my little report. I've been away helping my mom move so I haven't been able to respond to some questions that people asked in the thread until now. So did I ask for an autograph? No...like a loser, I didn't ask for an autograph. I'm not really an autograph seeker to be honest. But I did feel regret when at a later screening I did notice a gaggle of smiling Irish ladies skipping along with signed bits of paper in their hands, so I think Cillian gave satisfaction. And someone else asked how he was smoking his cigarette: when I passed by he was standing and having a really animated conversation with someone that looked like a star struck festival volunteer. Animated like he was telling this person a really funny story and waving his arms. So he wasn't really smoking, but gesturing with a smoke in hand.
I thought more people would have gone to the show and could help with my faulty memory. I remembered a few other things from the screening: While Cillian was in the bathroom, someone asked the director if he was in the 'men's or ladies'? and Neil Jordan said Cillian was in the ladies because he couldn't find the men's. Not sure if he was joking or not. When he returned, someone else asked Cillian if he took the dresses home after the film was done. Cillian seemed quite shy and said 'no' (and something else that I can't remember, but it wasn't "I gave them to my wife"). They both said their favourite scene in the movie was the perfume scene mentioned earlier in this thread. I think seeing Cillian in a PVC catsuit in that scene was the price of admission right there. Hot!
That said, I do want to say that I may have given the wrong impression earlier in a comment about the amount of physical intimacy. There really wasn't much. There was romantic scenes don't get me wrong. So some people might be disappointed in that...I found it wasn't a negative factor in the movie. I hear the book has a lot of sex in it, but I don't know first hand. It was an interesting film in that it seemed to be very fast and fun while still dealing with the challenges a transvestite in Ireland must face. I guess it's Kitten's unflappable nature that makes it so uplifting. It's like a modern version of Votaire's Candide, well almost.
Sorry about the long post.
