Right now I'm reading the the whole H2G2 saga. It's just... perfect nonsense. It's really funny to read. One thing to say about it : 42.

Finished The Blackwater Lightship by Colm Toibin yesterday and it was a very touching and beautiful book. I was close to tears a few times near the end. It's so evocative and i could easily empathise with the characters.
Last night i started Black Dogs by Ian McEwan.

Ow, I read some during my philosophy lessons last year. You just hate that "Prince" after that. Right now I'm reading La Malerune from Pierre Grimbert.

One Day by David Nicholls. So great. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Mockingjay as well. Once I'm done with those, I'm FINALLY going to let myself read my brand new copy of House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewiski. SO EXCITED!

Finished Black Dogs today and i loved it. I really love Ian McEwan- think he's fast becoming my favourite author. So now i'm starting Enduring Love by Ian McEwan. I watched the movie a few days ago and it was brilliant. Really tense and well acted- plus it had a couple of scenes with Ben Whishaw which is always a bonus! ;D

Haha, yeah it's kinda hard, but if I want to become general someday, I'll know what to do during a war...xD The funny thing is that I read it just for fun^^' I've just started 'Bound for Glory', by Woody Guthrie.

Only just finishing Enduring Love today! I know, it's taken me a lot longer than the last few i've read. Not really sure why that is. It's a great book. I think i just go through phases where i plough through 5 or 6 books in a week or two and then, all of a sudden, the phase ends and it's taking me two or three weeks to finish a book! Anyway when i finish the last couple of chapters of Enduring Love later today i have Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis lined up next. I've been wanting to read it for years so i can't wait to start.

Finished Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis which was very interesting. Also just finished Breakfast on Pluto by Patrick McCabe which is distinctly different from the movie but still brimming over with humour and emotions. Now i'm reading The Infinities by the great John Banville. Reading one of his books after taking a break for a while is like coming home. You don't realise the beauty of his words until you neglect them for while. As they say- absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro I finally got to this one a month or two ago, Jiradevan! ;D It was AMAZING! All of the emotions just built up right up to end, and I was just blown away. I watched the trailer for the movie after I read the book, and I was bawling like crazy as I watched it. Finished On Chesil Beach and it was really an amazing book. SO beautifully written and poignant. I think i will have to list it among my favourites. I also think i owe Rukia a CB for having it in her sig for all these years and making me finally get round to reading it. Thanks Rukia. I just read your post, now, Kim! Thanks, hun, for the CB! *hugs* But most importantly, I'm SO glad that you fell in love with it, too! I've read so many books since I read On Chesil Beach, but it still remains one of my favorite books ever. It really stayed with me when I first read it, and I've read it 3-4 more times after that, and I still get pretty emotional about it every time. I'm glad I kept that sig for so long -- I didn't think anybody would pay attention to it. I'm glad it caught your eye, Kim, and I hope it'll get other people to read it, too. It's too amazing to miss out on. I'm so glad to hear that a movie adaptation is in the works! It's going to be hard to translate onscreen, but I can't wait to see it. Finished Black Dogs today and i loved it. I really love Ian McEwan- think he's fast becoming my favourite author. So now i'm starting Enduring Love by Ian McEwan. I watched the movie a few days ago and it was brilliant. Really tense and well acted- plus it had a couple of scenes with Ben Whishaw which is always a bonus! ;D I haven't read that one from him before. I'm glad to hear that it's good. I love Ian McEwan, too! He's an amazing writer and one of my favorites, too. I've read quite a few others from him -- The Cement Garden, The Comfort of Strangers, Enduring Love, and Atonement. I'd recommend them all. The first two are darker fare but still very good. I'm glad you liked Enduring Love -- one of my favorites from him. I saw the movie, too, after reading the book, and I thought it was brilliant, too. I unfortunately don't remember Ben Whislaw in it, so I'll have to give it another watch sometime. One Day by David Nicholls. So great. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Mockingjay as well. Once I'm done with those, I'm FINALLY going to let myself read my brand new copy of House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewiski. SO EXCITED! I'm reading One Day by David Nichols, too, right now! It's so good so far! Quite different from the typical romance fare. It's taking me a long time to finish it, but it's only because I've been so busy with work. Another Hunger Games fan! *high fives you* I LOVE that trilogy! All three books were amazing -- even though I was slightly disappointed by Mockingjay. I just re-read The Hunger Games, and I'm going to re-read Catching Fire next. Now i'm reading The Infinities by the great John Banville. Reading one of his books after taking a break for a while is like coming home. You don't realise the beauty of his words until you neglect them for while. As they say- absence makes the heart grow fonder. How is The Infinities so far? It's on my read list even though I haven't read anything else from John Banville.

No worries Rukia. Wanted to thank you for introducing me to Ian's works. I love everything i've read by him so far. You deserve a second CB, otherwise i'd still be in the dark about his books. And i've bought Amsterdam, Saturday and Atonement too. They're all waiting patiently in my press to be read! The Comfort of Strangers sounds really interesting too, i'm sure i'll buy it at some stage. Ben's part in Enduring Love is pretty minute, but he's still there! So far i'm only a couple of chapters into The Infinities but i love it already. His writing just creates such beautiful imagery. Everything is so expressive, i love him. The Sea is my personal favourite by Banville. If you like Ian McEwan then i'm sure you'll enjoy Banville too. His style can be a bit more challenging (you may need to get the dictionary out a few times, i know i do! He likes his fancy words) but like McEwan's books The Sea stayed with me for a long time and it always comes back to me at random intervals, the ending mainly.

Aw, thanks for the CB, Kim! *hugs* ;D Ian's great! I like that he writes about a vast array of different subject matters, and that his writing's so beautiful. Let me know how Amsterdam and Saturday go for you. I haven't read those. I had a feeling that John Banville's similar to Ian McEwan... that's why I became interested in his books in the first place. Thanks for letting me know. Kim, if you liked Ian McEwan's books so far, I'd strongly recommend Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, if you haven't read it yet. I think his style's similar, and the book definitely stays with you and gets you thinking even way after you've finished it. It's an AMAZING read and one of my favorites that I've read this year.

Thanks for the recommendation Rukia. I have a huge pile of books yet to read, every time i go into a bookstore i come out with about 3 more!, but i'll get round to Never Let Me Go sometime.
Btw did you give me a CB? I'm sure i only had 44 yesterday. If you did thanks, if it wasn't you then thank you to whoever did give it!
