Okay... now I know the rumors are crap. LOL. ;D Anyway, re: contacting Cillian - you are braver than I if you do so, emma. LOL. I know the clip that's being discussed here, and it was a little disappointing to see (and hear) how completely unengaged Cillian was with that fan... of course, she did say about the stupidest thing she could have to him. 'I love your hair'? You are in front of someone that talented, and that is all you can come up with? Not that I don't understand nervous babbling when confronted face-to-face with someone that attractive, but jeez... I would have bitten my tongue till it bled before I would say something so inane to the man. I mean really, what would his response to that be? But yeah, his tone was so dead and just-this-side-of-irritated that I'm surprised the fan didn't burst into tears right there. While I adore Cillian to extreme levels, I have to admit that if I saw him in public, I would never dream of approaching him. That seems to be the way he likes it. Besides, I might end up like Stan in South Park when Wendy says 'Hi' to him - . LMAO. Feeling very much the same as you Pisces! I probably will go ahead and write him a fan letter at some point, but that would be as far as it would go. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable at the idea of approaching him either. The last thing I'd want to do would be to annoy/offend him in some way - and I can understand why he might not especially like being amongst big crowds in public and being the constant centre of attention when it comes to things like having to attend movie premieres and award occasions - and because of that get overwhelmed by it all and not especially feel like talking to people. I know I'd personally hate it if I was ever in the position of having to do stuff like that - not that I'm ever likely to be!

If he's going to be annoyed-- which I sincerely doubt-- by every blushing autograph request or every cheery "Hey, Cillian, how ya doing?", then maybe he ought to have stuck with law. Being an actor is to be in the public eye. Pretty much by definition. He's not exactly dealing with a Robert Pattinson level of fan mania. I think the basic rules apply: Public is public. If he's on a busy street, or in a common commercial venue (like a Starbucks, say), that is "public." If he's in a fancy restaurant enjoying a meal, or in a members-only club, or on the phone, or carrying on a conversation with friends, that's "private." If he's at home, that's "right out." Be friendly, be polite, be gracious. He's apt to return the favor. I've seen it: he's a nice guy. If I see him in Toronto, you bet your sweet bippies I'm saying "hi." I'm not going to tackle him or maul him or fold him up and put him in my courier bag, but I'm sure as heck not going to pretend he doesn't exist.

"Thanks! Glad you like my hair, I use Pantene and then use a light leave in conditioner." lol I do feel bad for the girl though, not getting the response she wanted, but i'd hope no one would hold it against him that he didn't know how to respond to a somewhat odd compliment. he still seems like a sweetheart to me and i would say hi to him too if i could.

Kinda-sorta like when we saw him in Toronto in '06, and a couple of girls ran up to him as he was getting into a car, and one of them blurted, "I love you--!"-- wasn't us, I swear-- and he said, with this bemused half-smile, "Umm... cool." Like "You're insane-- but it's cool."
"Crying at softball": one of the best scenes EVER.

I mean what's he supposed to say to that anyway? "Thanks! Glad you like my hair, I use Pantene and then use a light leave in conditioner." Haha! You make a fair point there! I'm sorry if anything I said in here gave anyone the impression that I was being disrespectful about the guy. It really wasn't my intention to be. It's just that I already know that if I were to approach him (assuming I ever even get the opportunity which I doubt) I already know I probably wouldn't be able to compose myself enough to be able to actually talk to him properly. I"m that way around guys that i find really attractive anyway - and he certainly wouldnt be any exception. Given the choice between taking the high risk of giving him the impression I was a babbling idiot with nothing intelligent to say for myself, and admiring him from afar - with just writing a letter to express how highly I admire his talent and acting work (bearing in mind I'm the type of person who tends to be alot better at expressing my thoughts in writing than I sometimes tend to be in face to face conversations anyway) - I just know I personally feel alot more comfortable with doing the latter. Though thinking about what I said earlier I guess it was pretty unfair of me to go jumping to conclusions about the guy based on just one encounter (out of what is probably hundreds and hundreds) with a fan. And as Beta Blue said, just because he doesn't like to be bothered in private - doesn't automatically mean he's never willing to acknowledge fan comments in any situation. I'm sure that he probably is a nice guy, and simply just has his off moments like anyone else does. As for you guys who are thinking of saying hi to him if you get a chance to see him, good for you though. You've certainly got a lot more courage than I have lol!

What to say to Cillian? It's very simple: You are a gifted craftsman and I would like to express my appreciation in allowing me for a brief moment to forget the outside world. Only a heart of stone could be indifferent to that.

Aww don't be so down on yourself bestshot! I am sure you look fine! To answer the question I thought I saw more photos in this series and if I'm not mistaken his shirt says "I am not a beaver." lol Does anyone know if this is right or not? I am pretty sure that is right........

Seeing how he doesn't crave attention like some famous people do I think it's hard for him to deal with sometimes. Yes crying softball is the best ever! lol

I sure did! That's great that you found those. :-)
I really must get hold of 28 Days Later on dvd at some stage. I really do like that film alot - though it's been a fair while now since the last time I saw it, and I can't remember everything about the story now as only saw it the once when my dad happened to rent it on dvd. I do remember thinking at the time though that I thought it was alot better than some of the other zombie type horror movies I'd seen before it. WIthout a doubt, I definitely want to make it part of my horror movie collection!
