Kizuna and Disarm - hang in there! It truly is rough out there right now, and I know how tight money can get. I was laid off in '09 and it was nearly a year before I got back to work, even with a fairly in-demand skill (healthcare support) and years of work experience. I remember all too well the days of earning barely-above-minimum wage, and it still shocks me when I see how low the current rate is. STILL. Oh, and how they just raised it a whopping 6 CENTS here in FL, and the businesses are already crying the blues about it. Give me an effing break. Don't get me started on economics, or Governor Voldemort. Sometimes I think heading to somewhere like Finland would be a solid idea. Okay- I'm stepping off the soapbox now...

My cat had to be put down yesterday, and I didn't even know about it until I called my mother after he was already gone. Apparently he had a fairly large tumor in his stomach, and he was an older cat, so my mother made the decision right away. I don't blame her, as he was probably in pain, but it was just horrible timing. I would have liked to have seen him one more time. Below is a picture of him. I could never get a good one of him, he always would close his eyes, like he knew his picture was being taken, lol. His name was Otis, but we called him "dopey" because he always had a dopey expression on his face, like in the photo. Gah, I miss him. Attachments:

I'm so sorry Cait. That's always a difficult decision "if" and "when" to put them down. Otis...that's a good name. My brothers yellow tabby is named Otis.

I'm not happy because I was woken up early in the morning, despite the fact that I slept at 3 AM last night and I'm definitly NOT a morning person, by the Police to find out that low-life scums decide to attack my dad, throw him down and steal his car. Real well-done fellas, cos it takes just a few youngsters to take down a 45 year old man and steal his possessions. Real cunning stuff.

I'm sorry to hear about that too, MrsUzumaki. Good to hear your dad wasn't badly hurt. The psychological trauma might be a different story, I guess. I hope those criminals will be put to justice and get the punishment they deserve for what they've done.
I'm having problems at work. It's been stressing me out so much, it's beginning to manifest physiologically. I already went to the doctor, and he already prescribed some medication for my problem. I also have to change my lifestyle--eat healthier and get some exercise. It just gets a little depressing at work when you try so hard but sometimes, it's not enough. I'm just hoping things will turn out fine; I'm trying my best.

@ Cait: So sorry to hear about your cat... When my cat had to be put down about two years ago I couldn't say goodbye to him too 'cause I was at work when my mother had to do that decision of letting him go... But it was better for him 'cause he was old and very weak and his kidney wasn't working anymore... @mrs Uzumaki: Oh my god... that's awful... I can imagine what it could be like if you wake up from a police call to hear such terrible news ! That's always my worst nightmare, to be woken up by a phone call that means something bad was happening with my beloved ones.... @ Impeachy: My hopes and good wishes are with you that all bad things your dealing with will go away and you feel better. It's so awful that some people have to suffer so much at their working place !! In my opinion people should not have to work that hard ! Please slow down, dear ! Don't work till you have a burn out or something! Live healthier.. Oh yeah.. that would be a good advice for me too 'cause I tend to eat very unhealthy and I am such a lazy girl when it comes to making sport... In fact I don't do any sport...

Mrs-N-Uzumaki: Thanks a lot. You're right. Lately, I tend to keep things to myself because my routine just involves home life and work since my other best friends no longer live in my city, or the ones that are still here are also busy with their careers. I've taken the time to discuss things with my husband, and knowing that I have his support has really helped me to feel better about my problem. I feel like a load has been taken off my shoulders. It also helps that I've been meeting old classmates recently. It was a like a breath of fresh air. How's your dad? Zombiekitten: Thank you for the well-wishes! Sometimes it also has to do with "toxic" people at work. LOL. They can cause you more stress than your actual work load. I've been trying to take it easy. I've resumed fitness classes this week, and it's great because cardio exercises relieves all the pent-up stress I've been feeling. I'm cooped up in a cubicle at work, so it's great to have some exercise, and it keeps my mind off of worrying too much. LOL. I'm lazy, too...I don't play sports and I don't like jogging, which is why I just sign up for fitness classes involving aerobics, taebo, dancing, etc. Walking is still the best exercise for me, though.

Been feeling pretty down this week. A family cat my family have had for about 12 years unexpectedly passed away this Tuesday. We'd already known she was sick because of kidney problems so had taken her in to the vets the day before for an overnight stay. But we'd had no idea things were serious to the extent they turned out to be. My parents were told at the time of taking her in that though she wasn't in good shape, they'd keep her in for a day or two, do what they could, and then after that she should be ready to come back home. Wasn't to be though. She took a turn for the worse during the night and passed away early Tuesday morning. I guess it's really for the best that she went as quickly as she did, considering that she was getting worse in spite of the care she was being given. But all the same, it's hit us pretty hard as we had her for a pretty long time and were all close to her. So sorry to hear that Cait. Can appreciate what you're going through. That's a really nice photo of him that you've put up there - reminds me of a male cat my parents once owned who looked quite similiar! Really sorry to hear about all that Mrs Uzumaki. That's awful! Hope your dad is now feeling better/over the shock - and that the police are doing what they can? Also really sorry to hear what you're going through at work ImPeachy. Hoping that the medication and other advice your doctor gave you helps you to start feeling better soon - as well as hoping that things in your job improve. I've been through that kind of thing before, not an easy thing I know. Really hope soon things get better for you!
