When Jim wakes up in the hospital bed is there any reasonable explanation why he's completely naked other than giving us incredible eye candy? I mean, the man is a work of art, but when I listened to the commentary on the DVD the the director gave no reasonable explanation why he made this choice and from a practical stand point there would be no reason for a hospital to keep a comatose patient naked.

Obligatory nudity is always welcome, especially if it's Cillian! OMG did I just say that?! Shame on me!

I won't complain 'bout naked Cillian goodness. <3 Haha, yeah...I can't say some people wouldn't be tempted to do a little Kill Bill action ;D I kinda wondered that too. Maybe since usually when people have operations they are naked and just have a little dress on, maybe that flew off......? But I agree, I wont question it.

Kill Bill action is a little gross, but I'm not sure I could hold back on a naked, unconcious Cillian?
LOL - I love your "flew off" theory! I wonder if this happens to Cillian alot?

I agree, it is a gross and disturbing thought, one that makes me hope I'll never be in a coma.......however, if it was Cillian.....I'm not sure what I would do Just joking, it would be tempting, but really gross and awkward......I wont go any farther...

I think it was to show how vulnerable he was and how terrifying it is, I mean imagine waking up totally naked and vulnerable, no one's there, you have tubes and things all over you, your head is shaved, it's obvious you've been unconscious and no one has been caring for you for a few days. I honostly don't think the scene would have had that intense of an impact if he was wearing a hospital gown or some other article of clothing, but for this poor guy to wake up naked, you're like "what's going on? What happened to him, what were they doing to him? Was he in an experiment?" Those are my theories anyway. I definitly felt a chill for Jim waking up in that state. To wake up covered would have been comforting for Jim.
Plus, I also think it was to signify his rebirth. He was being born again into this whole new world.

Also cheers to you for using your brains instead of your hormones in analyzing that. I just can't get past his "blessings" so to speak.
