I was there at the Friday night Love Song show, on the 16th. Is that when a lot of you guys were there too? You're right there was quite a crowd. I thought it was nice the way he seemed prepared for all the fans. But he did seem a tad shy. But when I spoke to him he was really polite and sweet. I thought I was going to faint when he looked at me with those eyes, so I kept my focus on the beard. It was quite a nerve wracking experience for me but he made it easy by being such a gentleman! I feel bad that people have come to see the show from halfway round the world, whereas I only live down the road from the theatre. How was the last night of the show? Can anyone tell me?

Dear everyone who has seen or spoken to Cillian in person,
Please give every detail: 1.) If you have seen him-what was he wearing (color of outfit and shoes) 2.) If you said you talked for awhile, please provide us with the convo--verbatim(word for word) 3.) If you stood near him-what did he look like close up? What does he smell like? Are his eyes that blue in person? Is his accent fading? etc. etc.
Most people here will never get the chance to meet him, please don't withold details. It makes us sad. Thanks.

Okay, I'll see what I can do with questions, but I'm really not very observant. Plus, I mean, how exactly do people think straight when they're looking into those eyes...?
1. Was he headed toward Covent Garden or Leicester Square? ---- He was headed toward Leicester Square. That's where I had to get on the Underground.
2. What was he wearing? ---- On Friday he was wearing a light-colored jacket, so I assume it was the one that's in punctuator's photographs. That was the night I saw the book in his pocket. I have no idea on Saturday. I was staring at his nicely shaved face and how different he looked from fifteen minutes earlier.
3. What did you say/what did he say to you/if you said you talked for awhile, please provide us with the convo--verbatim(word for word)? ---- This is copy/pasted from my blog, just to make it easier: -------- Friday: When he arrived before the show, three other girls tried to get his autograph and he was on his cell phone and said, "Uh--I'm just really late, sorry!" Then after the show-- I was trying to hang back and be nice, and then he said, "I really have to go, guys," so I sort of jumped up and said, "Well, before you go, will you take this?" He kind of looked like I'd grown a second head, because I think he thought I was talking about taking a picture, but then I handed him a book and a CD and the envelope with interview questions in it, and said, "Thank you for a wonderful performance." He raised his eyebrows and looked up at me a little taken aback and said, "I--well, thank you very much." -------- Saturday: when he started saying it was his last one to people, I moved up between people. I said something about how the autograph was for my friend Lindsey who couldn't come and he said, "Oh, okay," and then just kind of looked at me, and then was like, "Oh, you want me to now?" and then he signed it. And then I said, "Thanks! I hope you enjoy the book I gave you last night," and he said, "Oh, that was you? Thanks!" and it was actually sort of enthusiastic for Cillian, from what I've experienced.
4. Was he uncomfortable or gracious? ---- Well, he seemed a bit of both. There were quite a few people, and I guess it's normal not to want to be in the middle of that. Plus, he seems kind of stand-offish and a very private person. But he did sign things for people and he wasn't rude or anything like that.
5. Did he look tired/excited/relieved? ---- He seemed a little tired, I think. I mean, not really exhausted, but more like he was just kind of dealing with the people around the door as quickly as possible so he could just go home. After the show on Saturday, though, he stood behind me in the alley and spoke with some friends and he was quite smiley and grinny then.
6. Any pics??? ---- I didn't take any photographs, sorry! But I got a pretty good shot of him without the beard on my video camera that I'll upload for you guys soon.
7. How was the last night of the show? Can anyone tell me? ---- It was brilliant! It was really good, just like the night before, but the audience was a lot easier to make laugh--maybe even too much, because they laughed at some parts I didn't think were funny at all. They seemed a lot more appreciative, too, and everyone came onstage to bow four times.
8. If you stood near him-what did he look like close up? What does he smell like? Are his eyes that blue in person? Is his accent fading? ---- He's really very pretty close-up. He's got the strong features, of course, but they're also quite pretty and I just sort of wanted to touch his face. I didn't really smell him--I didn't get photos and I probably wouldn't be able to tell you anyway. His eyes really are that blue in person, I think. Every time I've seen him I'm always struck by the eyes. His accent isn't as strong as in some interviews from a while back, but it's still noticeable.

Hi I'm one of the girls who was there at the Love Song show on Friday 16th Feb. Just thought I'd give you a few more details about Cillian. He was a wearing a jacket and trousers in neutral colours. Sorry that's not very descriptive. He looked kind of dishevelled - a typical British actor look. We talked briefly. I was there as a fan and in a professional capacity. As soon as he came out of the stage door he was swamped by women and the odd man. But there was a little pathway in front of him that had been left free. I guess to let him breathe! So, I went straight up to him when the cameras had stopped clicking and said: "Excuse me can I ask you a question please?" He looked a bit taken aback and said "yes" I think and looked at me attentively. I then basically told him who I worked for and if he would do something for us. He politely declined. I must have looked really disappointed (beyond the call of duty) because he said very sweetly he did know of my company and seemed positive about it. I was too bashful to really check him out but my friend who's not a fan hung back and she said he looked about 5 ft 8. He looked quite slight to me too. He's fair skinned with pretty, delicate features. Because of his beard I couldn't see that chiselled jawline, which was a pity. He does look early 30s though. I think he looks much younnger in his films. I didn't really sniff him (tee hee) but he had a lovely aura around him. His eyes are very blue. Kind of a bright, clear blue and really sparkly - proper movie star eyes. But they're pretty, not sinister as they seem in Red Eye. I thought he had a very faint Irish accent but my friend who was more objective and who had no idea he was Irish, heard his accent from about 10 ft away. He seemed a little jaded and overwhelmed with all the attention but despite that was keen to be professional and be as nice and polite as possible and not dissapoint anyone. He seemed genuine but naturally cool. I don't think he's naturally that gushing and is little bit embarrassed by the attention. At the same time he seemed smart enough to appreciate all his fans. I think he would have preferred a few more men there though because perhaps he wants to be taken seriously as an actor and doesn't want to be just a sex symbol. But it's hard not to attract all that attention when you're so gorgeous! Oh, when he took his shirt off during the play his arm muscles looked fab!

Yes, they certainly did. Exactly like in the films. xD
You're right, though--I think he is quite shy and really a bit embarrassed that so many people notice him and things like that, but I think he'd be a bit more open to being there if there weren't so many people at the door. It wasn't like 100 or anything, but everyone was all packed together, so it must've been overwhelming to come outside and see it all. But he was very polite the whole time! He never got rude at all.
I love that he looked taken aback a bit, though. I think he must always just be a little shocked when people want to say more or give him something other than just standing there waiting for him to sign something or take a photograph. He seems to really appreciate people who are genuinely interested in his work instead of just getting a photograph or something.
Oh, and he did look about thirty with the beard, but then when he came out on Saturday without it he looked much younger!

Gosh I envy you Amanda. I would have loved to have seen him without a beard! But the facial hair didn't make me fancy him less it made me fancy him more. The funny thing was that he looked good looking in a normal way in real life. I think in films and interviews when they put lots of make-up on him and film him in a particular light he looks a bit otherworldly. But I'm happy to say in real life he seemed very much of this world and really approachable. You guys in the US are so lucky I think Sunshine comes out there first. We won't get it until April. By the way wasn't someone going to post some pics of Cillian without a beard on the last night of Love Song? Was it you Amanda? Oh please indulge us. Oh you'll be amazed to hear that most people over here don't even know who Cillian is because he's so publicity shy and though he lives in London he's rarely seen out and about at parties. Everyone here is obsessed with Daniel Craig. Not my cup of tea....

I get suck a kick hearing all these details from you guys. This is the next best thing to being there. The fact that Cillian's kind of publicity shy just makes him that much more intriguing and attractive.
Westlondonfilmfan, I loved what you had to say about how in real life he looked more of this world and approachable. I think most of us on this side of the pond envy you for being in his home stomping ground. Amanda, I can't wait to see that video. ;D

It's a pleasure sharing Cillian details with you guys. It's nice to finally find a group of people who truly appreciate him. I agree with you Asha - the fact that he doesn't court publicity makes him cool, kind of a cult figure. Actually it's only film fans and culture vultures over here that know who he is. He is very normal looking but in a beautiful, sweet, angelic kind of way. He's not at all creepy looking as some people have lead us to believe. I'm going to try to go to the Sunshine premiere if they have one and will let you all know how it goes. Yes, looking forward to that video too.

You know, westlondonfilmfan, I was talking with someone who said the exact same thing! I don't get it, though. I really think he's just as beautiful in person. I mean, everyone looks better than in real life in a lot of photographs, but I just really think he's almost exactly the same in person. I think it's the fact that he seems so shy in person rather than on film is what makes it different. ANYWAY, I finally uploaded the video. In the parts where you can see his face quite well I slowed it down for you guys, and the rest of it you can just sort of hear him talking. The link is here, and if it says it's unavailable or whatever, just try it again in an hour or so. I've just uploaded it, and sometimes YouTube is weird about that.

Thanks for the Cillian bar hedwigsgal but what exactly is a bar? Sorry, I'm new to the site. I think he's one of those really versatile looking people. He looks different all the time. He looks different in every film. I think the beard made a huge difference to the way he looked though when I met him. Amanda thank you so much for the video of him on the last night. It's brilliant. He looks really gorgeous clean shaven. On your recording his accent sounds really strong. I can't remember it being that strong in real life but then again I was a bit overwhelmed! But in a funny way now I've seen the real thing I'm only interested in seeing him in his natural handsome state, rather than in those airbrushed pics. If anyone has anymore pics and videos of him on the last night of Love Song please share...
