I wish I had the discipline to be a vegetarian, but I just love cheeseburgers, it's my only weakness!

I've been living vegetarian for a month now, my friends don't understand. But simply the thought of meat makes me throw up.

So, here's my little history with the whole vegetarian thing. I started being a vegetarian on January. It was a little bit easier than I thought, although I had days where I wanted a piece of meat. I'm a meat lover, but the reason I became a vegetarian is because I wanted to improve my health and lose weight. I lost 10 pounds. People told me that I looked thinner. My mom tells me all the time that my skin is smoother (it was kinda dry before I became vegetarian). Other aspects of my health improved too. Buuuuuuut, this summer, after being like 6 months without eating a Big Mac or stuff like that, I started eating from fast foods again and bread (my worst enemy, which I truly love!) and now I think I've regained some of the pounds that I lost. I regret it, but I can't be perfect. When I discovered a few weeks ago that Cill was vegetarian, that kind of encouraged me to go back to that lifestyle. Also, by reading here some posts of people who are vegetarians encouraged me as well. It's cool how some people can influence others in good ways.

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I've given up everything but lean meats and veggies lately and I feel a lot thinner and healthier. Where did you get your protien from if you didn't have meat? I mean I'm sure there are subsitutes and stuff but most except meat are pretty fatty. And fruits and veggies are both just carbs. I hope I'm not coming off as rude, haha! I'm just curious, as I've considered going vegetarian but this is always just stuff I've been curious about...

Which? Don't ask me. The one who cooks me the meals is my Mom and she knows a hell lot more about that cause she's vegetarian too. Yeah, I know I should be paying more attention to the contents of the things I eat haha. But, my mom believes on giving me some chicken or eggs sometimes to get a little more protein cause sometimes we need a little meat. You mentioned that fruits and vegetables have carbs. I don't believe on the no carbs diet, cause carbs are necessary. I think the best way to live healthy is to eat little portions of everything, like the French people do hehe. But, I have to mention that even though I'm a vegetarian, I will eat meat only on "special ocassions", unless I start getting disgusted by it lol. I love meat, but I wanna eat as less as possible cause it can be very dangerous because of the toxins it has.

Hey nice to *meat* fellow veggies LOL sorry couldn't resist it I'm a vegetable nutcase! If you are Veggie and not Vegan it's easier. I was Vegan but it's very expensive to keep up if you have a fast metabolism like myself. Good proteins are lentils, eggs, soy products and cheese. And what about all that yummy Quorn and Linda McCartney stuff? I make a wicked chilli with pretend mince ;D I'm veggie simply because I'm sensitive to toxins and meat is full of crap, antibiotics, hormones, pesticides you name it! Plus i think the way meat is farmed etc is just diabolical. Ps when you veggie, your skin glows and shows you are healthy if you concentrate on eating lots of greens and fruit etc. Look at Cilly's skin for a perfect example! He radiates luminescent loveliness doesn't he!
