Thanks, Shamrocks, I'll give that a look. My ex was a vegetarian, and when I lived with him, I ate much less meat. I'd even go as far to say that I lost my taste for it after a while. I actually tend to stay away from beef now, and I used to eat it all the time. I find it so gross now.

Yes it's funny you sound like many people, they can taste something vile or just off putting in the flesh. Maybe it's down to the intense dirty farming that's practiced. Or you are sensitive like me. Who knows but life is better without animal products. To me, it smells like wet dog and rotting flesh, even eggs do, cooked or raw. I can even smell meat on people. Nose like a beagle I suppose but when you are used to the diet nature & DNA intended, you are more sensitive to the smells of animal products. Also, unfortunately we are indoctrinated from birth about how meat & dairy is essential for nutrition (it's the opposite actually but then smoking was supposedly good for us once upon a time!) at little school we had this mandatory milk time where we HAD to drink this carton of milk shoved in our faces. The sour smell was vile I can remember it! I mean, who wants to live on a cold soup of animal fat teaming with antibiotics, plastic hormones, pesticides, live & dead bacteria?

I always knew his reasons for not eating meat weren't really to do with the welfare of animals or anything so that doesn't really surprise me.
But what does surprise me is that he was included in PETA's sexiest vegetarian list thing, they seem to just include anyone at all who mentions maybe not eating much meat!

Wel i'm pescatarian which probably annoys you too then cos i eat fish and dairy! I just don't feel i could live on a vegan diet because i'm not a fan of many of the beans and pulses and also i know fish is one of the healthiest things you can eat. I get all the mails from PETA and i am very aware of all the cruelty that goes on with animals and i do my best to avoid products tested on animals and i don't wear fur, leather or silk and i try to avoid wool as much as possible. Aa fas as i'm concerned it's all about knowing what goes on and being aware and then making the right choices for yourself. Oh and yesterday was Clubs and Societies day in college and i signed up for about 10 different ones including the Vegetarian one! Should be interesting.

I read something a week or two ago where Cillian said he ate some actual meat, lol. Honestly I was relieved to hear it. He has looked so thin and pale at times that he looks somewhat starved, so I thought it might be good for him to have some protein finally. Nothing wrong with not eating meat of course but I think it doesnt always work for people.

I'm an abolitionist vegan not by choice but by heart. It's a way of life & I even run my business by it. Veganism is becoming more popular. Being vegan gets a lot of bashing but we harden up and ignore opinions because they don't affect things but base our lives on scientific and dare i say it, moral facts. I doubt a piece of meat has made Cillian put on weight. I heard he's been at the gym during his run with Misterman because of the physical demand of the play.
