i'm not a veggie, but I eat meat few times a week. I feel healthier, even though I know I wouldn't be able to stop eating chicken

I heard that he is a Pescetarian (vegetarian + fish). That is what I am! If you also eat chicken, then you are a pollo-pescetarian. Or you may just want to call yourself a flexitarian. However, if I am a guest and my host has prepared something with meat I will usually eat around the meat. And pay for it later with a stomach ache.

I do also think that he eats fish because he said that he's not eating meat not for the respect or the animals but more because of the toxic things you can find in it.... So like you said he his a pescetarian,

if he is a pescetarian, than there goes my "one thing in common"! but, fish has more toxic than meat does....

I'm also of the opinion that he is a pescatarian. He mentioned eating sushi-which i am aware doesn't necessarily have to include fish- in an interview recently. And also, because he has said that he doesn't eat meat because of reservations about the meat industry and where it comes from. I eat fish too- it has way too many benefits to give up, while i've read loads of articles that say eating red meat increases risks of certain types of cancers. My main reaon for not eating meat though, is because we use more than half of the grain produced in the world to feed our animals which we then kill and eat, when millions of people in 3rd world countries would kill for the tiniest amount of grain. It could save their lives. And yes i know the fact that i'm not eating meat isn't going to help them much but it's just something i like to stand by, you have to have some principles in life.

I agree with you. Plus I think eating less meat is a good choice of living, you feel healthier, lighter and you save money !! or not eating some at all is even better. I can't imagine how some people eat steaks every night...! I eat red meat once in a while...but that's it.

Wow Razz! I never thought about the grain for the cattle industry. Everything we can do counts as something (kinda like voting). I have personally seen children starving in third world counrties. Oh my, their eyes stick with you forever. Let's all work to stop world hunger! Thanks for the insight.

Ok Ok .. This is one of the best thread ever seen lol. It's really comfortable to see that vegetarism isn't a default anymore. I wanted to talk about pescarism and vegetarism and also about food additives. I am myself a member of the 'pescarism group' but the point is that fish is getting worse and worse.I'm talking about taste but also about cattle. Many fishes look like shoe soles now!And I trust even less the cattle industry practises.
Moreover,I got used to check every pot label now but food industries just play fool with us because even if there's nothing wrong written on a quack pot for instance, they don't explicitely say that they use pork gelatine to make the rennet which is used to make quacks.

LBrooke, What is a "quack pot" or "rennet". I'm sorry, I have no idea. Food labels are getting better over here. They even have kosher labels that are helpful.

The rennet is a substance that curdles milk in making cheese and junket but from animals. And I was talking about that: www.fraicolo.fr/im/articles/FromageBlanc.JPGI'm not sure about how you call it,cottage cheese?

Thanks for explaining! I looked up rennet, totally disgusting! Poor calves! But, I do eat cheese and didn't know they use calf stomach enzymes to make cheese. Horrified! Concerned! Considering vegan lifestyle...but could NEVER give up chocolate cake!!! So quack pot is cottage cheese. I see!

Yep!but you can make cheese without rennet.I love cheese like you, that's why I got used to check if they use rennet to make the ones I take before.but they almost always use it to make cottage cheese though! Bwa disgusting is the right word..
