I'm a pescatarian and find it pretty easy. Since i was about 12 i've always wanted to stop eating meat beacuse i know how it's killed and where it comes from and i don't like it. Also, hate how we use more than half the grain in the world to feed our animals which we then kill and eat, when there are millions of people starving in the world who would do anything for a bit of grain. I tried being a vegetarian for a while in school, when i was about 15, but didn't last long. Recently i started again, not even by a conscious decision. One day i just realised that i hadn't had any meat in 3 days and i thought, "Wow i hadn't even noticed, i don't miss it at all" and then i continued on in that way! I did decide to keep fish in my diet though as it's very got so many important nutritional values. I eat Quorn instead, and more eggs than i used to, also eat more fruit. I've always loved salads and vegetables too so it's not very hard for me. I'm so glad i'm actually doing it now and finding it ok. Oh and i'm also taking Iron tablets because that's the main nutrient i'm missing by cutting out the red meat.

I think maybe Cillian is a pescatarian. Didnt that Flaunt magazine interview say that he was? Maybe I'm wrong. I also remember a few months back when he was saying in an interview some of the things he liked about LA, he mention sushi. Now that could be the veggy rolls . Who knows Where I live its much easier to find organic eggs and milk than it is meat. Meat is just a scarier issue, even when it's natural/organic. I'm not a vegetarian, but im not a big meat eater. I might eat meat 2x a week at the most. Sometimes i dont even like touching raw meat . So I'm probably not the greatest cook when it comes to my boyfriends opinion who grew up on meat n potatoes Flaunt Magazine interview ?? The recent one ?? Do you know where I can find it ?

No probs at all I know that for me I'd find that pretty hard to stick to. It's great that despite a previous attempt not working, you still kept going with that anyway and have now achieved it! I feel more motivated to try it myself, now that I've read your post - as well as some of the others in here!

Razzthekid-You have to take some iron tablets ?? Hoho darn, can't we find iron in some other products than meat ? My parents don't like that I'm tryin to stop eating meat cuz they think I'm too young for that, so if I tell them that I might be missing this nutrient..:S

No no, of course you can get iron in other foods too- the main ones being green vegetables. Spinach is one of the best as far as i'm aware. I don't take the iron tablets everyday as i feel i don't need them. When i did eat red meat i still wasn't eating it much- maybe once or twice a week- so i still wouldn't have been getting a lot of iron from it. I think you just need to make sure you eat a good variety of other foods so you try and get all the nutrients. Like eat some fruit, veg, bread, pastas, rice, eggs etc, try and make sure you get a few from each food group each day. And then you can always use Quorn and other meat substitutes-i'm sure they are full of nutrients to make up for the meat you're missing. I also love sunflower seeds and berries which are two of the best foods you can eat so i try eat some of them quite often. Aneamia can be a problem though, from not getting enough iron, so i just take one of the tablets every second or third day just to be on the safe side.

Yeah gelatine comes from animal bones and skin. It's in most gummy/jelly sweets and marshmallows. You can get either pork or beef gelatine depending on the kind of sweets they are.
So i've had to stop eating them too which is abit annoying as i love my sweets. But i also love dark chocolate, dry roasted peanuts, popcorn and other sweets not made with gelatine...so it's not too bad.

Exactly. I do actually feel better since i stopped eating them. Now i usually just have a couple of squares of dark chocolate with my tea, or some dry roasted peanuts- they're my big weakness. I love them! But then nuts are a great source of protein which is good seen as meat is the other biggest source.
