Also, try roasted veggie dish ---> make a mixture of 4 or 5 tablespoons of red palm oil, a teaspoon of tumeric, a dollop of honey and 4 chopped cloves of garlic, mix it all up the pour on ya fave vegges to roast and turn your veg in the tray to cover it all in the mixture. Good veggies to use are: Carrots, Sweet Potato (Yam), Fennel, Peppers, Onion, Parnips, Beetroots... Bake for a good 40 mins on a medium heat i guess everyone's ovens are different... then if ya want add some feta cheese cubes onto the roast 15 mins before you take the roast out.

I make patties out of a a can of beans (baked haricot, or kidney or mixed) blend them up with a small tin of black olives, garlic, add to that some chopped sundried tomatoes, fresh basil and a little bit of plain flour to make a sturdy dough you can grab and shape. Sound bizarre eh? Add a pinch of salt and pepper if you want. Make little 4 inch diameter 1/2 inch thick patties and fry them untill brown each side, they go nice with a creamy dip. Yum ;D

Yum!! I need to write this down. thanks for these. Sounds easy and with simple ingredients, but I'm not sure if this small dumb ass town carries Cardamom pods. I owe you a CB, will give tomorrow because I gave one away today.

Thanks for the recipes Ikklehen. I love roast veg(just had some earlier!), i usually just put some fresh herbs like thyme and basil in and maybe some Chinese 5 Spice powder but the marinade/sauce you describe sounds really good. I'll have to try it next time.

Mmmmmm thanks guys BTW cardamom pods and even the cloves are not compusory! But gently heated cardamom pods and nutmeg in soy/oat/rice/almond milk is a nice comforting drink too. I did note about the lack of choice in food stuffs in your earlier posting there. Thank you for the Cilly Bar Herbs are amazing fresh... tarragon goes strangely well with veg too! Cafe Paradiso I have discovered have a website and there is a book available by the chef on the site. Check the menu out it really is mouth watering... almost as a certain man LOL

Woohooo! Thank you so much for the Cilly Bar! My culinary blogs have already earned me one already! Kaelyn ;D I have no idea how my ideas come about I just scratch around my bare cupboards and see what matches or needs eating before it turns sour ... I suppose the old potato cake could be similar with fresh coriander, onion & chilli or Port Salut cheese cubes and rosemary! I have voted for Mr. Cilly on PETA's sexy thing... Oh BTW, I mistakenly had sausages put on a plate the other day, I referred to them as "Pig's Sphincter" and I think I turned the neighbouring chompers into vegitarians! Woops! LOL

I have been thinking of going vegetarian for years... I have this friend who before I became friends with her I wanted to be like (turned out we actually have a lot in common) but she's vegetarian and I know it sounds horrible but that was why I wanted to be one too... I quickly learned about animal welfare and now that would be why... However as long as I live with my mum that is impossible but when I do move out I think I might take the step.
and knowing Cillian is a vegetarian makes me love him anymore... I love men who care about the world around them...

Hey Victim Of Love it's not horrible that your - at the time- soon to be friend inspired you to think about vegetarianism, it's lovely! I know how difficult it is for you to live with someone who presses their life style on you. I had the same circumstances. I never expected anyone to bend to my exceptions for me or go out of their way to make something veggie (I'm old enough to buy my own groceries now!) but while I was back at my parental house helping look after my poorly mom it was difficult! I cooked mostly in the household and always did a meat dish for everyone but stubborn old dad never swung around a meal in my favour and to this day still expects me to eat stinky meat LOL Bloody typical! I hope you can soon feel free enough to live your own lifestyle and discover yourself what really resonates with you xxx

Yeah! Thanks for that, bless her she's in a better place now i I do miss her <3 I do know that in general veggie people and even more so vegans (I was vegan at one point) get a lot of stick about their diets while the perpetrators hide behing their stinky hormone, antibiotic & infested mad cow beef joints! LOL And yes, being veggie makes you eat a little more because you eat things that digest and metabolise faster but that means more good nutrition insteead of blocking up your pipes with dead and stubborn meats and saturated fats. It improves health greatly as long as it's a well balanced veggie diet.
