Based on seeing him next to Bono at the BOP premiere & Rachel at the RE premiere, I still say he's closer to 5'6, maybe 5'7 on a good day. Sorry folks, I don't see why you insist on making Cillian a shrimp -- let's just check out the visual evidence, using your Rachel example. The imdb, lists Rachel as 5'5" in her stocking feet - this picture at the Red Eye premiere (see below), where she is wearing hot pink stillettos that are at least 2 1/2 -3 inches high - making her at least 5'7" -- this pic shows her to be, at the very LEAST, STILL two inches shorter than Cillian - in HEELS! Again, that would make Cillian at LEAST 5'9": See Rachel's shoes..... Also, before anyone tries to make Rachel shorter than 5'5" lolol....here's one more -- this is her standing next to Sarah Jessica Parker at the Family Stone premiere, Sarah is said to be 5'4" - and Rachel is taller than her by quite a bit... Paste link in browser - clicking doesn't work for some reason: www.rachelmcadams.org/gallery/albums/Appearances/Premieres/TheFamilyStoneNYPremiere/normal_new-039.jpgAlso, even more evidence (okay, I am offically obsessed with proving this now...LOLOL ;D) - this is Ryan Gosling & Rachel Adams at their premiere of The Notebook - Ryan is rumored to be at most 6'1", and at the least an even 6, or a tad under...as you can see, Rachel, who is wearing a similar heel height at this premiere as she was at the RE premiere...comes to his eyebrow line...almost the same as where she hits Cillian: Again, cut and paste link into your browser: www.rachelmcadams.org/gallery/albums/userpics/events/notebookpremeire/6.jpg

We'll have to agree to disagree then I'm almost 5'9, so no desire to make him shorter than me. A lot of "official" celeb heights are almost always padded and their ages are often lessened, it just the ways things are done. I also don't believe Cill really is about to turn 30 next month, but that's an entirely different discussion. I think that until that lucky day when one of us gets to stand right next to him when we're both bare-footed, we'll never know for sure. I can just imagine his horror if if a tape measure was whipped out...."Um, could you settle a dispute for us?"

Yeah, I'll agree to disagree. I trust Tanya, who stood next to him, and knows her own height and the height of her heels. We don't know the height of Cillian's heels in any of the pictures, and as Lulu pointed out, a lot of times info in bios is wrong. I've heard a number of times that those bios tend to add height for men. Cillian has said in interviews that he's going to turn 30 at his next birthday, in intervews done a few months ago, so I'd rather take his word for it. Again, the age info in a lot of bios is wrong; it's not always provided directly by the person, but by some representative. So, until Cillian answers the question definitively, I'll stick with what Tanya and others who have stood near him have said.

I too have stood next to celebrities, and I really have to tell you - that sometimes even that is a misperception (unless of course these people claim to be looking DOWN at him, then it wouldn't be)...but if they are looking up, however little or far - that can be hard to judge, i.e., just how far you are looking up, that is. For instance, I've been in close proximity to Colin Farrell, Gail Garcia Bernal, Mark Wahlberg, Keanu Reeves, Dustin Hoffman - plus many others. The only one I can for sure tell you I was looking in the eye, and perhaps a little down at, was Dustin. LOL The others were taller than me (5'4"), but I am unable to tell you by how much, only in that when you are in the same vicinity of some of these people, you head is spinning quite a bit. I myself was quite flustered with both Colin and Keanu. I say all this to say -- I wouldn't let a personal meeting, unless they KNOW they were looking DOWN at somebody, determine exact height either. Also, unless they weres tanding side by side - shoulder to shoulder, back to back - they still may have a misperception. It's best to go by these bios. If you have a consensus that says Rachel is 5'5" or even 5' 4.5" and you see her wearing 2.5 -3 inch heels/stillettos - and Cillian, standing shoulder to shoulder is taller than her by at least another 2 inches, well then - there you have it.

Let's just agree to disagree because some are taking it more personal than necessary!! What difference does his height make really? He's short and it's nothing wrong with that at all! He's still a great actor nonetheless. His height has no bearing on how we feel about him.

I'm not taking anything personally - I just like doing the research and trying to be as accurate as possible. To me it's pretty clear.
...and uh, if he's 5'9" I wouldn't say that was 'short,' neither would I call him 'tall.' It's just a bit better than average height for a man.
Not that there's anything wrong with being short -- I would still like him - even if he was 5'6-7" or less.
But he's not.

Okay, I see your point. But, I wouldn't base the research completely on films (because of the different angles and such) and internet sites, which can be wrong. It's all objective really. We can go back and forth on the height issue. But, it's not like it's a world issue or anything pertinent, so let's just agree to disagree. So that's just say "Cillian, come on here and solve this now." lol

see i dont know, cillian looks really tiny, every pic i look at he is like the shortest in the group, i think he is like 5'7, plus he looks like he has short legs and arms so he can't be very tall

He's also said in interviews for Batman Begins that if they'd hired him to play Batman, they'd have to hire a bunch of midgets to play the villains, so it sounds like he's at least got a sense of humor about it.

yeah exactly, even he knows he is short, so im not seein 5'9, in On The Edge he was taller than the girl, but she looked like a child, so of course he'd be taller or i'd be a little concerned;)

well think about where talent won over height in batman begins,
scarecrow was supposed to be like, abnormally tall and lanky. Cill's got the lanky down pat, and while he's not tall they hired him to be the tall guy. so take that.
