Some of us tried to be a veggie yet ... some to do it like Cill, some before they know him at all .... Here we had a discussion about Cillian´s weight and about beeing veggie: cillianforum.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=Pig&action=display&thread=1177967101&page=1Now we came to the idea to try it again together ;D ... Our project: "Go veggie, eat like Cillian" *g* Cillian is right of course, there´s so much sh*t in meat ... Everyone of you who try it or who´s a veggie yet can post theirs experiences here now ... Please share them with us! Maybe someone have hints for us! I´ve started Sunday 27th May, 4:00 pm CST, I´ll let you know about my success or failure! ;D First two days worked good *lol* ... Think it will get catchier because I ate much meat the last years, espacially chicken ... I don´t quit eating seafood, its a healthy alternate if you know where it comes from ... Good luck for all of you! Let us know how it works!

Lahatiel you decided to do a thread on it!!! ok, So today I was still at my families home and they are very big meat eaters. So I ate what they made minus the meat. They were laughing. They give me a week on this. I explained I am not that big of a meat eater in the first place. I guess I will see. so far so good. Not hard, yet. lol. Hey vegetarians!!!!! Any tips?

OMG, really? Well, I don't eat meat quite frequently, so that should make it easier. However I'm havin a little trouble when I have to fix dinner for Will who is a big meat eater. It's really tempting to grab a bite. I don't know how long I'll be able to resist. The biggest challenge comes this weekend cause the family gets together... and boy do they eat meat. Mom's gonna cook my favorite meal: Enchiladas!!!! I think Will's told her about my diet and now they're both conspirators

I stopped eating meat quite easily because I kept thinking of the animals in the slaughter houses and the way they kill them. It's so horrible words can't express it properly... There are a couple of videos here www.goveg.com/factoryFarming.asp and www.petatv.com/tvpopup/video.asp?video=agri_short&Player=qtAlthough, if you're sensitive those may disturb you. I still think everyone should watch them at least once to understand what animals go through, because most people really have no idea (I'm not speaking about you guys on here, but more in a general way) I probably wrote too much but I'm a big animal rights supporter!

I am half Mexican and my grandmother always cooks hers without meat. She uses the sauce and flour tortillas like all enchiladas. The difference is she uses sharp cheddar cheese, steamed potatoes, and onions. I don't like onions but the rest is so yummy. Maybe your mom will make them like that for you instead. Just writing about them makes me hungry.

Yeah blackmamba, I´ve stolen your slogan because it´s so damned good! Yummy!!! Enchiladas!! ;D Great to have this team to try the vegetarian diet!! It´s a helpful motivation!!! Four days now and there a are no probs! I noticed, it is a bit difficult to create a menue without meat when you be used to eat meat nearly every day ... But till now I found something tasty every day! My boyfriend also joined the veggie-team so I haven´t to handle meat ... it´s much easier! Today we had vegetarian doner within our lunchbreak ... a bit unfamiliar but nohow bad! Miho, I don´t quit eating milk and cheese, too! I think it wont be very healthy to do this because there is no other really good way to get enough calcium ... (I have to ingest cortisone so I need much more calcium then normal.) There are some vegetables and seeds wich contains calcium, but you have to eat galores to get enough ... Supplements aren´t work so well I think ... and I don´t want to get osteoporosis when I become older ...

Well, Miho like Lahatiel said... you are gonna need your calcium, so milk, cheese and yogurt should stay on your diet.
And OMG Hedwigsgal, I didn't knew you were half Mexican... ME TOO! I'm gonna follow your advice and ask my Mom to make those enchiladas. Mmmhmmm... I'm gettin hungry myself just thinkin about enchiladas...yummy

I was thinking you seemed to know an awful lot about latin culture.lol. I was trying to figure that out. I plan on making the enchiladas this weekend too. It will give me a nice filling meal. I have no plans on giving up dairy products. Nope, can't do it. Today wasn't so hard. Although I have to cook for my niece and nephew this week. My niece was like I am not eating a pita filled with a giant mushroom and veggies.lol. So I bought them Mcd's. They were happy. I am loving all these new recipes. The web is filled with them. Only thing that sucks is I hate onions and almost everything calls for them. I take them out but they are usually a main ingredient. Oh well, no biggie. I wonder how the veggie burgers, dogs and meat taste. Guess I'm gonna find out.lol blackmamba I put your slogan in my siggy. Hope you don't mind.
