Notes on a Scandal 8/10 Very good film! Cate Blanchet was superb as usual and Dame Judy Dench was fantastic, however super creepy!! Oh and LOVED that Anne Marie Duff made an appearance at the end, wish she would have had a bigger role though, she is so talented!
Bollywood Queen 7/10 Pretty cheesy, possibly even bad however James McAvoy was in it so I am biased, reallllly biased. Unoriginal story line and cheesy singing but still cute and fun, James looked SO young even though its only from 2003, but he looked insanely adorable! Probably not a piece of work James is proud of but I can understand an actor trying to get their name out there and taking work as they can get it .... it seems like he had fun filming it though and I enjoyed watching it even though it was cheesy!

Wanted 7.5/10 I finally got to see it today! I know that you'll probably hate me for saying this, kaatopp, but it fell a bit short of my expectations. For months, I've been extremely hyped up for this movie. I expected so much more. In the beginning, it was a bit reminiscent of Fight Club, which wasn't a bad thing since Fight Club's one of my favorite movies. It didn't have the same sly, snarky humor and dialogue though... I think that's what fell short in the movie, the screenplay. It was mostly a bunch of unmemorable one-liners. The lines felt a bit awkward for some reason. It's not the actors' fault though since they were all talented, top-notch actors; it was probably more of the screenwriters' fault. There's not a lot you can do with a bad screenplay. The story wasn't that great; I would've loved for it to be developed more, but I did LOVE the twist, and of course, the ending was just freaking awesome! I did love the special effects and stunts; they were over-the-top amazing! The "goodbye bullet" scene was incredible. All in all, it worked for what it is, a mind blowing action movie. James McAvoy looked hot, of course , and I'm glad Wanted was a commercial success at the box office. I really hope he'll get even more exposure from its success. He deserves it.

Hanc*ck I saw it on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised. There were several twists I never saw coming, and it was a change from the normal superhero movie stereotype. Once again, I believe Will Smith has done a pretty decent job.

Kung Fu Panda 7.5/10 My boyfriend and I were gonna see Wall-E again, but it was sold out, so we saw this instead (we both wanted to see it eventually anyway). It was pretty good and funny.
Edward Scissorhands 8/10 My favorite Johnny Depp movie. I just love Edward and how the mean boyfriend is the dorky kid from The Breakfast Club.
Jaws 8.5/10 The only good Jaws movie in my opinion. I love Quint and the "Smile, you son of a b-" line.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers I have always loved this move. It was good to watch again. I do like musicals, but this one is just very well done. We did it for our school musical a few years ago, and it has kept a special place in my heart. I always think of our lead accidentially giving one of the brides a black eye during opening night. Classic.
The Mummy This is another of my favorite movies. I have always been a little obsessed with Eqypt and mummies (I believe someone once called it my creepy obsession with dead people, but hey), but this is just a fun show to watch. I love Brendan Frasier in this role, and Rachel Weisz is great too.
The Mummy Returns I decided to go for the whole series, and this one doesn't dissapoint either. The son is cute and funny, and I found alot of the interaction between Imhoteop and Anak Su Namun wery interesting. Great movie, on the whole.
Juno When I first saw this, I was a little shocked, but it turned out to be a great film. Elllen Paige is a magnificent actress and it felt more lile a good indy film than a blockbuster. Loved it!
*yes, these are all movies I watched yesterday. I just got my wisdom teeth out and I am bored out of my mind. Does anyone have any suggestions of moives I should get for the next few days?

Wall-e 8/10 I did not want to see this film at all, I am against pixar films, but I was with family over fourth of July and everyone wanted to see it. I have to say though it was pretty good, and even though it sounds cheesy, it had a really good message. Of all the crappy kids films out there I would be more than happy to show this to my (future) children. Very cute and funny too. Battle Royale 8/10 This movie was super insanely awesome. I love the whole concept, it was totally nuts. It didn't receive a perfect score because I did not really like the ending. There was so much build up to it and a few questions (but not many) were sort of (but not completely) left unanswered for me. Basically from the point when the last three kids are left onward, to the end (about 10ish minutes), I became a little bit disappointed. The film still really rocked though. Here is a link to it online if anyone wants to watch it!! Warning, the film is relatively gruesome but it is not scary. There isn't excessive gore but there are still some intense death scenes that might upset some viewers, I personally like that, haha. Battle RoyaleMary Reilly 6/10 Meh, I watched this on a whim, it was a free comcast movie, starring Julia Roberts and John Malkovich. I thought it was going to be a bit more scary or creepy then it actually was, but it wasn't really. I pretty much thoroughly enjoyed the film until the ending. There were some really bad special effects at the very end and the, SPOILER], essential invincibility of Julia's character didn't make sense since we are talking about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. All in all it was okay because it was free. Julia's Irish accent wasn't as wretched as I thought it would be but it certainly wasn't good.

The Dark Knight takes a perfect 10/10 It was too amazing for words. Heath was so amazing as the Joker. He totally scared the pants right off of me and though I'm still very sad over his death, Heath definitely went out with a "BANG!" Aaron Eckhart was really solid as Two-Face, and I actually cried for him at the end and Christian was hot as always and I squeed really loudly and happily when Scarecrow made his little appearance.
I did have some slight problems - the ending lagged a bit and the Joker conflict wasn't resolved that well, but it was still an amazing movie. It lived up to, and even exceeded the hype. I loved every second of it.

The Dark Knight 9/10 AMAZING. My heart was pounding half of the movie. Bale and Ledger did an excellent job and Maggie Gyllenhaal was much better than Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.

The Dark Knight 10/10 The BEST movie of the summer, hands down. All of the performances were excellent. Especially Heath. He totally lost himself in the role. The Joker was disturbing, darkly funny, and surprisingly quite profound when it comes to the human psyche. Aaron Eckhart was also very good in his role as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Even though I knew what was coming for him, my heart still went out to him. He had such potential to be a good guy! I agree, quackattack, Maggie was so much better as Rachel Dawes this time around. I loved her.
Overall, this movie had it all: great performances, beautiful cinematography, amazing action sequences, and excellent, excellent story!! The story was dark, intense, and psychological and so much more complex than in the first movie. I loved it. It really makes you think.

Dark Knight 7/10 Meh, really disappointed, did not meet my expectations but I still enjoyed the movie.
La Mala Educacion 8/10 Starring Gael Garcia Bernal. Pretty good movie. Really interesting and moving story filmed in a really great storybook manner. A pretty tragic story actually but the way it was told and film did not make it the most depressing thing ever, which was refreshing. Really beautiful use of color in the film and some great acting by Gael and the other leads in the film. The film doesn't necessarily start out slow but I think it gets much better and picks up speed after about 30 minutes, once you really get into the story. The more I think about it the more I think this film was pretty incredible, it really grows on you, the characters and story were so interesting. I would definitely recommend it!
