These pictures are shocking. Cillian is underweight and has dark circles under his eyes. Compare these photos to the much healthier Cillian in "The Water". I don't care how hot you fans think he looks, something is obviously wrong. I haven't the slightest idea what the situation is between Cillian and his wife but a person who has a drop of mercy and love for someone takes them in their arms and says, " Darling I know something is not right, let's go to the doctor just to be on the safe side." And this caring person drags Cillian to get medical tests and treatment . What is this woman waiting for? His collapse?

These pictures are shocking. Cillian is underweight and has dark circles under his eyes. Oh my god, give it a rest. If the make-up artists managed to make Charlize Theron look like crap in Monster, it shouldn't be too hard to cover those dark circles, but since these are stills, I think it's safe to say it's make-up. I don't remember him ever having much meat on his bones, quite slender-framed. In Sunburn I thought he looked, I don't know, tiny?

He is working on a few projects at a time right now isn't he? Imagine the long hours at work, add into the mix 2 small kids under 5 (assuming he is working near home) and anyone would have dark circles! (If in fact those are dark circles and not makeup/shadows on his face.) I agree with minamurray78, he has never had much meat on his bones but I don't see him as looking manorexic or anything. I think he looks adorable in these pictures so: pppthhhh!!!! lol ;D We should be celebrating his new film! This is supposed to be a happy thread damn it!

From this description it very well could be makeup:
"Flat broke, on the run and with only 24 hours to pay up, Michael is forced to confront his true feelings for Brenda and make amends with his father. However, with Perrier and his gang in hot pursuit, time is running out for Michael and only fate, a bit of luck and possibly a gang of savage dogs will save him"
They very well could have put makeup on him to give him dark circles since his character only has 24 hours to pay up etc... they probably want the stress and lack of sleep to show on his face.

He's supposed to take a beating early on in the film. That said, I'll concur with Seabreeze: he's looking tired and underfed. I will second the concern.
But, yo: Seabreeze--! Was that the same "The Water" where he took such a deep, hollow-cheeked drag on that ciggy that, hell, I could count his molars all the way back to his freaking WISDOM TEETH?!?
If that and those magnificent eye-bags are byproducts of "two kids under five," I'm most happy to be on the side of Helen Mirren, thanks.
Just saying. We'll see how he's looking in Toronto....

You'll notice his co-star also looks a little worse for wear -- she's clearly been crying.
So of course he's wearing makeup --- this is a professional film. The job of film is illusion. It's fiction. These two people are on the run from gangsters after having killed someone. If he didn't look haggard, he wouldn't be doing his job as an actor and the makeup people and filmmakers wouldn't be making a believable film.
Just sayin'.
I must third Pisces and Rukia in hoping for some bad boy behavior in White Male Heart. He may have the good boy role though -- we never did hear which of the two roles was his. And of course, it's unclear if that film will be made any time soon. But I think it sounds intense and cool.

Whereas I'm really, really hoping "White Male Heart" never makes it past the planning stages. The story is deeply depressing, even borderline horrible (the author seems to think, among other things, that the depiction of animal abuse somehow makes him credible: I have a very strong stomach, and I found several passages in the book gratuitously sadistic and sickening), and when the only thing distinguishing your protagonist from your bad guy is that fact that your protagonist is just a hair less despicable, that's not a good sign. Not everything has to be roses and sunshine (no pun intended, I assure you), but this would be another notch on Cillian's "too-weird/too-dark/too-depressing-for-release" totem. I absolutely would not be seeing it, and I sincerely believe they'd have a hell of a time finding distribution for it.
And-- to keep things (uncomfortably) near-topic-- he's too old for it. The two leads are around nineteen years old. Cillian was afraid he was nearly too old to play "Kitten" Braden four years ago; he's certainly leaving his "movie teen" years behind now. I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, but I do like Daniel Radcliffe; I think if "WMH" had to happen, he'd be perfect in it.

Thanks for the update, Aimee! Love the new stills! He's looking scruffy and tired, but I believe he's supposed to look like that if he's been on the run. Personally, I think he looks adorable. I love him looking scruffy and normal, haha. God, and that first picture... what girl wouldn't want Cillian to look at her soulfully and deeply in her eyes? I would totally melt. Responding to Melty_Girl about White Male Heart: I've read the book, and I think Cillian can be do either Aaron's or Hugh's role. He's versatile, and I can see him in either role. When Eddie Redmayne was attached, I definitely saw Eddie as Aaron and Cillian as Hugh. Now with Max, I dunno, probably vice-versa. I don't know if this film is going to go anywhere; it's been in pre-production for over a year now, I think. :shrugs:

I think he looks hot!!! I guess wer'e not supposed to say we want to do Cillian on this forum. But I still want to do him. I think the circles under his eyes are sexy, like Benicio del Toro has.
