If he ever does read this forum, I reckon most likely it's not too often. But just in case he ever happens across this... "Heya Cillian! Just got one thing to say - think you totally rock!" Further edit: Great choice of questions by the way Larva!

Melt_Girl you would not die of embarrassment. How do you know how I would feel if I ever met Cillian? I would be so tongue-tied and embarrassed, I doubt I could handle it. Of course, a famous actor is just a human being., but that's not the point. I wouldn't be awkward because I think Cillian is a god or something. I'd be embarrassed because I'm such an insanely dedicated fan, and even I think it's a little weird. I'd be embarrassed because I'm so crushed out. I'd be embarrassed because I'm a human being. I'd be embarrassed for the same reasons that Cillian has described being embarrassed when meeting Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. It's awkward meeting your idols -- and they meet awestruck people all the time and it must be tedious for them. I don't think that the smutty RPF would arouse him simply because it isn't erotic. I think he would be amused though. Uh, thanks for the negative review of my fic...? I'm not worried about the legalities. I've never heard of any RPF writer getting sued, and my fic has the customary legal disclaimers on it (that it's 100% not true, that I don't know the people I've fictionalized, etc.). And just for the record, if I did ever get to interview Cillian, I would NOT ask him about reading fan fic. That was a joke.

Thanks Emma, thought my questions were pretty run of the mill but I couldn't think of much else at the time.... Agree with your embarrassment factor on meeting people you admire Melty_Girl. I do not have a good track record meeting famous people. I become a awkward mute and it only gets worse the more I like the person so I know how you feel. You can tell yourself they are only a person like everybody else all you want in your head but that doesn't translate easily into action,I've tried. lol

I would be feeling just the same as you for the same reasons. You're definitely not alone there. This is why I feel I could never approach him in real life either. I've written him a fan letter, but that's as far as I'd ever take things. And even doing that on my part took a fair bit of courage for me (daft as that might sound). As I felt torn between strongly wanting to express my admiration for his work, and at the same time wondering (assuming he even ever gets round to reading the letter in the first place) if I'd just be better off leaving it. Though I didn't include anything that I feel could actually be thought of as embarassing in the letter - the thought that there was a chance he might find it a nuisance almost put me off sending it at times. Though in the end I did. And seeing as I got myself into such a tizz just over a letter - I know it's highly unlikely I would be able to handle actually meeting him. I'd find it too difficult to cope with me thinks. Can appreciate where you're coming from. Thanks Emma, thought my questions were pretty run of the mill but I couldn't think of much else at the time.... No probs at all Larva, I thought they were good!

I can understand how one would feel awkward and embarrassed but I guess my fascination with the how and why of film making overides my nerves. I have met several people in the business and for the most part they are extremely nice people. I don't collect autographs nor do I desire to snap a photo. My questions usually revolve around storyline and editing but I've even discussed organic gardening and politics. Emma, believe me you'd handle yourself beautifully if you ever encountered Cillian. All you have to do is be yourself and no eyeball licking. Food for thought: I'd like to know what Cillian discussed with Paul and Stevie .

Thanks for the kind words Seabreeze. I'm pretty sure that if, as with yourself, I was in the habit of meeting people within the entertainment business I'd most likely think hardly anything of it. As it would be one of those things you'd just get used to after so long, and would really hit it home that indeed they are just regular human beings like anyone else. But as this type of thing would be such a novelty for me, the whole thing would just feel so strange. Plus going by the one past experience I do have of meeting someone within the business once - not too sure if he still does much work now, though he was a pretty well known British actor/comedian/TV presenter at one point (was Tom O'Connor) - I definitely know I'd have a pretty hard time composing myself properly. Myself and my partner went on a P & O cruise back in 2003, and ended up meeting him as he was one of the entertainers on the ship. While my partner and I were walking around the ship we ran into him completely by chance and he talked to us. He was indeed a very nice guy. You couldn't have met a more down to earth, pleasant person imo. But despite this, within the first few seconds of realising who I was talking to it's no exaggeration to say that I went completely tongue tied, felt myself going red with embarrassment (silly as I know it was) and couldn't make any words come out of my mouth. And the trouble was that once that started, I just couldn't relax myself properly because I kept imagining how I must be coming across - which only added to the problem! What's worse I know that he definitely noticed! Because of the way his expression changed as he looked at me after first saying hello. I had to leave it up to my partner to do all the talking - who of course being the naturally outgoing confident person he is had absolutely no problem chatting away to him. Just as well he was there, as I'm sure I'd have made a right idiot of myself otherwise lol! And this was all as a result of meeting someone who I'm nowhere near as much in awe of as I am Cillian. By the way Seabreeze, hope you don't mind me asking (and of course if you'd rather not answer this then that's totally fair enough). But I'm just wondering....do you work in journalism at all? You've mentioned you've met quite a few people in the entertainment business, have asked them questions about their work, and I remember you saying something about writing articles in another post somewhere on this board ...so it got me wondering. Though if I'm being too nosey please don't hesitate to say so!

Emma, this is what I will tell you: I am in awe of no one. I pay to see what I hope is an interesting film, a finely crafted piece of art. Most of the time I leave the theater disappointed. However once in a while I become fascinated with how and why a film with an excellent cast fails. Cillian is always surprising and brillant but his recent movies have been dumped on the shelves of your local Gumshoe Video Store. It's the why that intrigues me. This has nothing to do with this thread but I sent Tasha a personal letter challenging Cillian to answer my less than polite questions. I also aksed her to tell me where and what Cillian was doing on a certain date ( I knew the answer and I had the proof ). She never replied. So ladies relax, it was all a bluff.

Seabreeze- I, too, PM'd Tasha... and I did receive an answer from her. She made a point of stating to me that you were absolutely rude to her and made comments about Cillian such as him having greasy hair; and also that you put down most of the members on this forum. So I am not at all shocked that you received no response from her.

I almost forgotten about the whole 'Natasha' business. LOL. Okay, going back on topic now... I actually have more than one question to ask Cillian. 1. Did you regret any of the roles you've done so far? 2. Which role(s) did you like the best? 3. Which of your co-stars did you like working with best? Least? 4. Which veteran actor would you like to follow the footsteps of? If I actually met him in real life, I probably wouldn't be that articulate. LOL. It would probably be more like this: "Hi, I'm a big fan of your work..." Blanking out, pause, smiling awkwardly, handing him a picture, "Would you mind signing this for me?" LOL.

I wrote it a while back, but I guess some of you wouldn't have seen it yet: www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=melty_girl&keyword=ppinnag&filter=allBeware (or take interest, depending on who you are): it's definitely NC-17, and it's real person fiction involving Cillian and Naomie Harris, during the making of 28 Days Later in an alternate universe. 8 chapters of 100% fiction based on nothing but my imagination...
