I enjoyed reading that interview! I really admire Cillian's reasons to be in certain movies! and I just love his way of expressing himself as well!
The last question though, I would imagine what he'd be like when they shot Red Eye!

Well, what can i say about Retreat, other than wow. I'll offer a completely *SPOILER FREE*, if slightly fangirly, review. The storyline is a little like a play, very claustrophobic, very tense, and actually very scary - very edge-of-your-seat. The performances from Thandie Newton and Cillian are phenomenal. They got so much from a relatively simplistic script. Jamie Bell too is fantastic, though i have a slight reservations about his accent, it was a little all over the place. I'm a big horror/thriller fan and this hit all the right notes, it was both completely unique and yet kept to many of the set pieces horror fans know and love - and wonderful use of atmospheric music! A brilliant twist at the end that i, for one, just did not see coming. At 1 hour and 28 minutes it's not the longest film, but it really is a wonderful journey. And now the fangirly bits. Cillian looks gorgeous in this. I'm a big fan of his look in Perrier's Bounty - the stubbly, slightly scruffy look - and he has a similar vibe running through this. His hair is also so pretty - all ruffly and unkempt. And finally, and probably best of all, the cinematography of this film really makes his eyes jump off the screen! Alot of the latter scenes are quite dark and Cillian's eyes have been used as a cinematic device - by lighting them just so they are like beacons in the darkness. It really is beautiful - a stunning use of Cillian's best features! Ooh, and there's a jogging scene So, in short, a brilliant little film, similar in style (that claustrophobic, edge-of-your-seat, what's-gonna-happen-next) to Red Eye. P.S. I've not fogotten what i said about seeing about uploading it, my brother-in-law is coming over tomorrow evening to see what he can do

Great review, Irish_Lover!! Have a CB!! I hope to be able to see this on Friday. It's available on Pay Per View here starting that day, but I'm a little worried because I've always had issues trying to order PPV for some reason. I just gave up on it years ago and got Netflix, so I never use it. Now I need it!! LOL! If I get lucky and get it to work for me, I will be seeing it Friday night.

Thanks for the review! Now I REALLY can't wait for my prize to get here! If it does that is, I forgot to add my address in the entry email... I thought my question was horrible so I didn't think I even had a shot... LOL I have sent another email with my address though so I'm crossing my fingers!
I hope PPV will work for you Pisces!

So i walked into HMV today and nearly had a tiny heart attack and did NOT manage to contain my excitement when i saw Retreat staring back at me from the shelves just inside the door!!! I grabbed it, counted out my last coppers and smiled all the way home! So having watched it i can say, i f***** love this film!!!!! It was so tense, so exciting, kept me guessing all the way to the end and the acting was outstanding from everyone involved. Cillian shines as always, especially in his pivotal scenes. I can't believe it didn't get a cinema release. I loved how it was shot, a proper small budget flick that uses atmosphere very well and really builds up a sense of dread and urgency. And also the jogging scenes with Cillian were enjoyable- i'm also a huge fan of the look he sports in this movie, it is similar to Michael in Perrier's Bounty who i always found the most attractive of his characters! But honestly i can't fault it, it's a perfect length for a film of that kind and it's got an amzing cast, Jamie Bell was very creepy, I could empathise so much with both Cillian's character and Thandie's character. They were all so well written and developed. I loved the music as well and i loved the setting- the fact that they used a proper old cottage just makes is so much more authentic. So yeah, i'm gonne make my dad and my brother watch it and i'll prob watch it again as soon as i get the chance anyway! Really really brilliant film. I'm trying to think of something i can deduct marks for but i can't! It's a genuinely gripping movie with a great premise driving it and a stunning cast. 10/10

Thanks for the great reviews Razz and Irish_Lover. I owe you both CBs. I really hope this is playing somewhere in northern Illinois. I will even drive a hour away to see this in the theater, but no showings are listed yet

Watched this last night, and I'm gonna have to agree with Razz...can't find any faults. I'm not giving a review because I'm just not good at those things, but never did I think this movie had a "28days later" vibe to it. Totally different! There is one part of the film I have to point out, I couldn't stop laughing....I wonder who's idea it was for a certain somebody to wear that bath robe.
