Oh you will absolutely adore it, I can guarantee that. BTW I took a photo from Row E if you want to know what the view is like. Haha. There's nothing to be seen but the safety curtain but I think that it was, in a lot of ways, BETTER than front row. You have to look up for front row. The lighting, at times, makes him look like a completely different person entirely. It was mostly wonderful and in one scene he was basically staring right at me (eek, you know he's not actually doing that as the lights mean he can see nobody but there's something slightly unsettling about it) but a few rows back gives you a much more comfortable view.

I think row E is the best choice. Much better than the first rows, which are kinda....dangerous, you might be hit by some flying scrap of prop, things tend to get.....intense. I have tickets for row C in the circle, central. It's the best I managed to find (actually, tickets are selling very fast). I'm happy I'm going to watch it from another perspective, but I can assure row E in the stalls is pretty awesome.

I thought I might get hit by a flying hammer at one point. And I could actually smell the Fanta from Row A. Not gonna complain, it was amazing both nights. Seats were perfect. Play even more so.

I'm soo excited to be going to see this too,I'm going on the 26th,you're so lucky Zombie you got row e seats. I'm sitting in row c - does that mean I'll be craning my neck to see ?? They don't sound great now - When I tried booking before, row c were the closest seats that were not right at the front. The others seemed too far away so I picked those. But I don't want to get hit by anything lol

No, no, A to D are fabulous. Major close up. But Row A, whilst wonderful, leads to some craning when Thomas is on the upstairs level. It's not a problem, the seats were fantastic. Perfect, even. But E and F are also perfect so a little further back is not an issue. It's still close enough to see how blue those damn eyes are.
I'll upload the pic, Zombie. Literally nothing going on in the pic. I took it just to show a friend where I was.

Row C is just fine. A and B are probably a bit uncomfortable for your neck and slightly dangerous because of flying scraps of plastic and water falling It's quite an experience, isn't it? I'm glad I'll be able to appreciate the full scope of the stage, but to be in the front is fun!

I'm sure you'll get "the gaze" Zombz he's everywhere at once in quantum leaps and the ferocity of his engagement with the audience will grant you that moment! Awwww.... *shivers* I have to say, it would be an honour for me to get hit by any item Cillian throws at me during the play LOL I'll keep it as a souvenir ;D

I personally favour Cloth on a Stretchy Rope. I think that's genius. Never gonna get hit with that though. It just bounces straight back into place rather comically.

Haha! Yes it's really funny! I didn't see that in Galway it must be a new thing. Genius! I think I might do that with my tea towels in the kitchen! ;D

that was hilarious! The good thing about Misterman is that they get to persuade you it's a comedy....the audience was howling with laughter....then it gets rather uncomfortable......and they laugh less......until they stop laughing altogether and they stare with eyes wide open! Love it!!!!

It starts off Charlie Chaplin and steadily declines from there but not in a bad way. The opening scene is just the height of brilliance. The audience, I feel, disintegrate at the same pace that Thomas does.
One thing I absolutely love about the performance is the changes in tempo from manic energy to pure stillness in a split second; how one minute Thomas can be throwing things with such thoughtlessness that you think a chair leg is going to snap and the next, because of something playing on his mind, he behaves with such care and due attention that it's as if you're watching him play out in slow motion. Every movement is precise. Every act is carefully carried out. It's exhausting, like interval training. Fast, slow. Fast, slow. No room to breathe in between. It put me in mind of his tapes. One minute they're reeling at speed, the next minute they're dubbed and slowed into something unrecognisable.
Tis the subtlety I adore.

I just looked at my ticket from second night. It was F15. We were in E14 and E15 during Enda Walsh's talk. Haha.
