Age...? What age? I'm so old, I can remember my dad yelling "Hey, you dinosaurs, get off my lawn...!" (The mastodons, though... man, they were the ones who really tore up the grass. Shaggy bastards.)

LOL Punctuator I had a Trilobite as a pet. Haha! I'm just a bit peeved having to go to Galway and not be able to walk in a pub and have a pint or two. It doesn't work if you are female does it. I might get aquainted with folk but that's hit and miss, I'm pretty shy. Sorry to blub folks. Just trying to give my ticket away. Anyway... back to Cillian!..... ;D

Am I right in seeing that it is a funding request on the staging? As in; The play is still running the dates with a paid actor and maybe just a less dressed up stage??? I'm hoping that's what they mean. Fingers crossed that it doesn't mean "no dough, no show"...! It's funded 100%!!! Woohoo! So that means Cillian won't be performing on top of an old tomato box! ;D www.fundit.ie/project/misterman-1

Well I just decided to book another ticket for Saturday 23rd eve performance. I have a feeling it's going to be so intense and thick full of sensory indulgement that it needs to be seen twice... and 2 live performances are never the same so that's another perspective I will be treating myself to. Plus I have nothing to do on that night and I don't want to be twiddling my thumbs all on my own in Galway! I still have a spare ticket for the Sunday 24th July eve performance! Anyone interested?

I'm trying for a three-banger-- I've got tickets for the matinee and evening performances on Saturday July 16, and for the evening performance on Sunday the 17th, so I'm thinking I'll be Mistermanned all the way to Mars...! (Also thinking-- in a weird way-- that since the play is about a young fellow with sociopathic tendencies, it's going to feel a little literally like a "work vacation." What do I do during the course of a typical workweek...? Why, I read case after case after case about... young fellows with sociopathic tendencies. The only difference being-- MINOR, OF COURSE!-- a typical workweek so far hasn't involved being in the same room as Cillian. ;D) But... there's a purpose to this post. Here's an excerpt from the letter the good folks at Landmark sent out to us Fund:It donors today. Just a little whistle-wetter: "The best thing we can tell you is that we are in Galway now, and everything is going brilliantly. The crew have been working tirelessly, and the set is jaw-dropping in its scale. The tech is in full flow as we write and Enda, Cillian and the creative team are just waiting to unleash the play in front of an audience. Our first preview is on Thursday."Starting to get revved up about this thing...!

Yes for sure... I didn't expect this to have a huge set but it sounds exciting! I will be reporting back to some of my techie colleagues on that one I really did think it would have been a minimal set up similar to Disco Pigs. Just to go of kilter slightly, one of the best sets I've seen was the revolving, multi panel elevating stage for Lord Of The Rings in London. The whole production was a feast! I hope they don't attach Cillian to a flying rig! LOL that would send me into hysterics! ;D Shame you are not going to the same dates as me. It would have been lovely to have met you.

Next time: next time 'round, we co-ordinate our schedules, yeah...? ***** The thing is-- just a couple of rambly thoughts-- about breaking the bank to see the guy: I'm an old-movie buff. Most of my favorite actors and actresses are from the Golden Age of Hollywood. And they're all dead. I'll never get a chance to see them in person: Cillian I can see. It comes down to regrets: I can ratchet back on the budget, live on noodles and peanut butter a little more than is probably optimal, and get on the plane for Shannon next week... or I can sit here, months or years down the line, and think Why didn't I go when I had the chance...?The first time I went to London (to see Love Song, in December 2006), I did a little research using movie mags from the Thirties, and I figured out where German actor Conrad Veidt had lived in Camden. (Connie, probably best known for Casablanca and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, died in 1943.) I mapped out the address in the A to Z, I took the tube to Camden, and I found... a block of apartment buildings where his house had been. The pictures in Photoplay and Picturegoer showed a magnificent oak tree in Veidt's back yard: the tree was gone, too. Gone, gone, gone. So... I guess I'd say, as a nod to ikklehen, as a nudge to others, if there's someone out there fence-sitting about taking that spare ticket and finding transport to Galway: DO IT. If you have a chance of swinging it, go. Get on the train, get on the ferry, get on the bus: get there.Regrets, man: they're a bear.
