I'm not particularly sure that I'll like it, but I'm going to see it. You all needed to know that

I want to know how they go from book to movie, it's a pretty weird book... To keep it seeming closer, I'm anticipating the trailer, since it's gotta come out sometime soon.

I just watched Velvet Goldmine yesterday, and I LOVED it. So I'm sure I'm going to love BoP. I think it is the role of a lifetime.

You know, nobody had really heard of Adrian Brody or "The Pianist" as much until after the AA nomination/win. Some of the movies that win are more serious affairs, not the usual flit-and-glamor offerings in Hollywood. Given that, and knowing how good the storyline and production-values of BoP are, I think it would be a shame if they did not consider the movie.
It seems to have great performances too, and between Cillian and Liam, there should be enough big-name draw.
Personally, I can't wait to read the book, and see the movie - I think such movies (more indie stuff) are his forte, fitting into all these different roles without any effort.

^Actually I knew of Mr. Brody (b/c I like him too). He was in "Summer of Sam" and some other films. The thing about winning when you are virtually unknown is that you can become part of a slump. You can venture into "where is he/she now?" territory. I'd rather Cillian not win an Oscar and remain prolific in work than win one now and visit that place.

That's true. I would be really happy if he did win...wait, who wouldn't? Even if Cill did win it, I just know that he would still only pick scripts that were brilliant. No slump for him.

yeah i think thats why people keep comparing him to johnny depp in a way cuz even if they dont look alike...they're both BEAUTiful to look at, really good actors, nd choose films not for money or fame...

Actually, Tanya, that's a very good point. I agree - I would rather he keep doing the kind of movies he's been doing and stay the amazing actor he is. I think he even said in some interview, where some one asked him if he would ever do a movie like "Jackass" and he said "God no, can you imagine looking back on your career and thinking - why did I ever do that? " Gotta love him for that, wot?? Besides, I would NOT want him to get all excited like Adrian did and kiss the presenter - because then I would say that would be the last good and bad moment of my life - Great because yeay! he WON! and bad because - why the hell am I not that presenter? ??Dammit, never in the right place at the right time!

Yes, Oscar = AA Emmys are for TV Adrian went nuts at the AA and kissed Ms. Berry then Golden Globe is a mini-Oscar - similar concept, I think it does include some TV, and is usually a precursor to the AA
